The Sunday Post was created by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer this is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the previous week and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review.
I have been stuck on 're reading books for it feels forever but it's more a month. I just cant seem to get into any new books even though I have loads to read. At least am still reading. So it's technically not a reading slump but it feels like it. Any suggestions on some books I should check out would be appreciated. I prefer PNR or at the minute some streamy adult reads.
I have also been having a bit of a blogging slump and I did a post on it along with a giveaway where you can win your choice of book VIA Book Depository. You can check out that post here

* A blast for an adult erotic book
* Some reviews of which am not sure I have a back log of quite a few books. Probably a YA book I need to review and an adult streamy book.

How was your week? Let me know below. Have a great week :)
Reading slumps are the worst and I don't read a lot of PNR so I've no recommendations to help you out of it. I do find rereading an old fav works best for me though when that mood hits. Hope both the reading and blogging slump vamos soon!
ReplyDeleteI like to re- read sometimes, especially a comfort type read when you don't feel like anything else. I think book blogging is so time consuming that slumps and lulls are common and to be expected. Hang in there and do your own thing. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a super week.
I like rereading and I've found that if I'm doing a lot of it I'm normally too tired or stressed to process a new story. I don't read too much of either genre (though Anna at Herding Cats and Burning Soup has some fantastic steamy read suggestions). I like Jill Shalvis' books quite a bit - especially her Lucky Harbor series. It's on the steamy side for a standard romance and the characters are great. Hope you get out of your rut soon! Sometimes having too many choices can be a bit overwhelming. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI have had trouble with distractions (house guests), but even after they left, I kept setting aside my book. Finally it caught my interest. Maybe because I persisted?
ReplyDeleteSometimes I just have to start a different book.
Hope you get your Reading Mojo back....enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I hardly ever re-read, I'm so afraid that will mean there are new-to-me books I will never get the time to read :D I read a lot of PNR, but I have no idea what you've read yet... If you haven't read Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series, I can really recommend that! And if you're into steamy reads, you should try JA Huss' Rook & Ronin series - the seven books are on sale until tonight, I think.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

I can totally sympathize with your blogging slump. I've been feeling that way lately too. Hopefully we both snap out of it! Here They Lie looks awesome, by the way, and this is the first I've heard of it! Have an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Weekly Recap
I feel your pain, I have been there and it seems like it will never end ..but then a book comes along that breaks you free. Hot in Chicago series is steamy and fun. Have you read PNR series Immortal Guardians ? Sexy, Fun, and Addictive. Hope this week is better for you Megan.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever read Tessa Bailey's romantic suspenses ? They're steamy hot and lots of fun ! And if you want pnr, The Phoenix pack by Suzanne Wright are steamy and also lots of fun ! But re-reading is good too, I think there are many bloggers (including me) who are doing it these days - maybe it's in the air ?... Have a better week *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI rarely re-read books these days. I hope you find something new to read that you enjoy, but there's nothing wrong with re-reading either.
ReplyDeleteThe Julia Kent books look good. Have a great week!
I have been in s reading slump, too, as well as a review slump. I have 5 books I've read to review, but I'm just not that in to any of them. I hate a meh review. I'll go back over my notes and find something I liked about each one.
ReplyDeleteI've been really wishing I had more time for reading lately. School is taking up so much of my time that I have done hardly any reading so I feel like I should read new books when I do get the chance to read. Don't worry, the slump will end. Enjoy your rereads!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the The Local Muse
I really hate reading slump. They usually happen in the worst possible moment and then they stick around for way too long. I hope you find a book that helps you break out of it!
ReplyDeleteReading slumps are the worst. Have you read the Enchanted Inc. series by Shanna Swendson? They are quick and fun reads.
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm sorry to hear about your blogging slump! :( I've recently come out of one too. Sometimes re-reading is the way to go, I love re-reading my favourite books :D
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Some good books there!
ReplyDeleteI feel for you, I seem to be going in and out of a blog slump especially when some of the books I've got are just a bit meh!
Hope you have a good week!
