Mid Year Freak Out Book Tag

Today is July 1st and we are starting the second half of 2018 already! How? I say it every year but this year am going say it again, it's going so quickly. Today I thought I would do the Mid Year Freak Out Tag because I am freaking out we are half way though the year. See the creator of the Mid Year Freak Out Book Tag here

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2018?

The best book I have read this year so far is a draw between two Meghan March books. Ruthless King (Mount Trilogy #1) (2017 release) and Savage Prince (Savage Trilogy #1) (2018 release) I gave both books 4.5 Stars and loved each trilogy so much. They are both Adult sexy contemporary romances. They are set in New Orleans and show it's darker and dirtier side!!

Mini Reviews of the first two books in the Savage Trilogy by Meghan March 2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2018?

The best 2018 sequel I have read so far is a draw between two books. Damien (Slater Brothers #5) by L.A. Casey and The Good luck Sister (Wildstone 1.5) by Jill Shalvis. I just adore L.A. Casey 's Slater brothers series so much and I am so sad it's ending later in the year. Each book is about a Slater Brother and the girl that tames him. I actually meet LA Casey for The first time earlier in the year and totally fangirled.

The Good Luck Sister was a sweet novella in the Wildstone series and I can't wait to read book two very soon.

A  sequel not published in 2018 that I loved was Engage (The Disciples Daughters #3) by Drew Elyse. (2016 release) This series follows different couples within the same world and their lives being part of the Disciples MC.

3. New release you haven't read yet, but want to.

There are lots but some that come to mind are With This Man (This Man #4) by Jodi Ellen Malpas, The Controversial Princess (#1) by Jodi Ellen Malpas, Alannah (Slater Brothers 5.5) by L.A. Casey and All Souls Trilogy guide by Deborah Harkness. These books are by my favourite authors and I do have reasons for not reading them yet.

With This Man released when I was in a slump. I tried reading it and just ended up flicking through it. I do want to go back and read it through very soon. The Controversial Princess is a dulogy and the next book releases in August so am waiting to read them together. Same with Alannah, the final book in the series releases in September so am waiting. And finally the All Souls Guide is hecka expensive so am waiting for a while to buy it.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.

Apart from the sequels mentioned above I am looking forward to Times Convert by Deborah Harkness and Richer Than Sin by Meghan March.

I love the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness and I am so excited for another book in the same world following Marcus Whitmore. Richer Than Blood is a new series from Meghan March and I am ready!
5. Biggest disappointment.

My biggest disappointment was Running Mate by Katie Ashley. I read one of Katie Ashley's trilogy's earlier in the year and loved it so much. So I was looking forward to another book from her. And Running Mate really disappointed me. It really needed edited so bad I ended up flicking the book. You could tell it was self published unlike her other trilogy which was traditionally published.
6. Biggest surprise.

Weirdly the same author is both my biggest disappoint and surprise. The Vicious Cycle Trilogy by Katie Ashley was so good. I love MC books and was seeing the same storyline over and over but this one really surprised me with an engaging storyline and great characters.
7. Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you)

Meghan March hands down. I read two of her triology's this year and another book by her and she's now an auto buy author for me. If you want sexy adult contemporary romances set in New Orleans check out Megan March. Even if you don't check her out. :)
8. Newest fictional crush.

ALL OF THEM. I love a good book boyfriend. 9. Newest favourite character.

I loved a lot of new characters but one that sticks out is Flick and Grace from Secret Of A Teenage Heiress by Katy Birchall. They are 14 year old girls who just made me laugh so much. Flick is so snarky and her friend Grace is just hilarious. As a 29 year old woman I could still appreciate this book.

10. Book that made you cry.

I don't think any books have made me cry this year..so far.
11. Book that made you happy.

I would have to go with Secrets Of A Teenage Heiress by Katy Birchall. It was just such a fun, entertaining read.
12. Favourite book to film adaptation you saw this year.

The only one I have saw so far is Fifty Shades Freed and I didn't even see it in the cinema. I do love the Fifty shades trilogy and I enjoyed the adaptations. One I do see want to see soon is Love Simon.
13. Favourite review you've written this year. (Booktube version: Favourite video you have done so far in this year)

THE WRIGHT SECRET BY KA LINDE #REVIEW I have reviewed every book in this companion series so far and I plan to review all of them. Writing reviews is something I still find hard to do after all these years.
14. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year (or received)

I love the covers of Meghan Marchs books. They are just so simple but effective . I love the bold covers on both her trilogy 's.

I also love the paperback edition of The Start Of You And Me by Emery Lord which am sure I brought this year, or maybe it was last year.

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

Apart from 2018 releases so far there is some older books that I have just been meaning to get to. Some as long as two years and they just need to be done. One is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and another is ACOTAR!

Let me know your favourite read of 2018 so far in the comments below!
