When you get a kindle don't make my mistake!

Anyone who knows me knows I was against e-readers. I love my paperbacks but I gave in and was gifted a Kindle from my dad for Christmas. I was still slightly weary of using it but then something happened... that one click button and then YOU HAVE A BOOK. I now have a eBook buying addiction and it isn't helping that I am still buying paperbacks as well!! Now I have loads of eBooks and not enough time to read them!

Another thing I can't stop read doing is requesting books on Netgalley :( It is so easy to click on a great book that isn't available yet from some of your favourite publisher's. And now I have tons of books that need to be reviewed and I am such a slow reader and a mood reader so that pile is not moving!!!

The point of this post is if you get a kindle or have one and  I know it is easier said than done but try not to hit that button too much. Also if you can't read them fast enough don't request to many books on Netgalley. I am slowing trying to get though them and trying not to request books but when you get the email saying you are approved my heart does get a little bit bigger :) Fingers crossed I can get though all the books ASAP!

Anyone have the same issues? Let me know how I can make myself stop lol

  1. Yup, I have the same problem and I have had my kindle for 4 years LOL! I'm trying to be more choosy and if I read a synopsis and I am not feeling it 100% I won't let myself choose it... it's working, but not as well as I would like it to because I still have too many!!

  2. I learned this the hard way too! I'm still paying for requesting so many NetGalley books. I don't think my approval rating will ever be good enough. And those $.99 books are so hard to resist!!

  3. I would say that I also have this problem! I don't really buy too many books on my kindle if any - because there are so many free ones! I end up with loads of freebies. And then netgalley, don't get me started >.>
