My Top Ten Bookish Resolutions 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Broke and Bookish

This weeks topic: Top Ten Resolutions we have for 2016

1) Read 100 Books

This was my goal last year and I missed it by 15 books but I am determined to achieve it this year.

2) Try and Read Books I own

I have way too many books on my book shelf I haven't picked up, like hundreds and I needed to have sorted this like last year. Maybe 2016 is the year!

3) Organise my book shelves

Well I actually need to purchase some book cases to house all my beautiful books. I have like a tiny baby one and the rest are boxed and stacked to save space but 2016 is the year I invest in box cases and sort them all out.

4) Read what I want to read

Basically I want to read whatever books I want to read and not put pressure on myself to read "popular" or new books. Don't get me wrong I will be reading plenty of the new books and I do cave into book pressure sometimes but I want to try really hard to just pick up and read what I want.

5) Post what I want on my blog

It kinda pairs with number 4 to post what ever post I want on my blog. I sometimes feel the pressure that if I read a type of book that's frowned upon I feel like I can't post it. Last year I really got into adult erotica romance books and because I have labelled my blog over the years as a YA blog I felt like I couldn't post reviews of those type of books but this year am going to try and relax a little more with that.

6) Have a variety of different bookish posts on the blog

Last year I started to have discussion posts and other type of bookish posts and I want to continue that in 2016

7) Try and finish some already started book series & read some books by authors I have wanted to read for so long

I know a lot of people have many book series they want to start\finish and I am know exception. Some series I want to finish is the Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin, House of Night Series by P.C & Kristin Cast & The morganville Vampire Series by Rachel Caine.

There is never enough time to read all the authors you want to so this year I want to prioritise 5 authors. You can find out who those authors are this Thursday on another post.

8)  Try and be more organised with blog posts

This is probably never going to happen me and organised don't go hand in hand but I would like to at less be ahead a few weeks on memes and discussion posts

9) Make time to check out some of my favourite blogs

This is something I have got better doing in the last 6 months or so but I want to contine to do this and discover some awesome blogs along the way.

10) Have fun with blogging

I just want to remind myself why I started blogging and keep it fun! Books are supposed to fun and blogging should be the same.

What are some of your bookish resolutions?

  1. Great goals and goals that I think we all need to keep in mind! I'm really excited that so many of us want to focus on reading off our own shelves this year. I love seeing reviews for books that are a little bit older that I might have missed. Sometimes when everyone is reviewing the same new release it can get a little much.

  3. I have book shelf issues too. Need.more. LOL. Looking forward to seeing who your priority authors are- I'm starting to really have authors that are go-to's for me, which in the past I never really did. I thank book blogging for introducing me to so many new authors. :)

  4. I think the last one is the most important. If we're not having fun, why are we doing it?!

  8. Numbers 1-3 and 8-10 are among my 2016 bookish goals as well. You've made a great list here, Megan - best of luck. And thank you so much for visiting Dreaming Under the Same Moon. :)

  9. I have lots of goals in common with you Megan and I think that reading for fun and just enjoying blogging are great aims. And I wouldn't worry about labelling your blog or restricting yourself to reviewing certain genres, it's your blog so you should feel free to review and talk about whatever books you want to.

  10. Aw these are FABULOUS goals! You should absolutely do what makes you happiest- it's something that I think we all lose sight of at some point, sadly. I am still in too much denial to make it a resolution ;) Being organized is a big one for me too because... I am not. AT all. I am basically a mess of non-scheduled posts, and non-scheduled living :D Good luck with all of these, and I hope you have a fabulous 2016!
