He must follow a very specific set of rules: don't trust anyone outside the family, have you rwork boots at the ready just in case, and always, always watch out for the signs. The end is coming, and they must be prepared. School is Jory's only escape from Caleb's tight grasp, and with the help of new friends, he begins to explore aworld beyond his family's desert ranch. As Jory's friendships grow, Caleb notifies Jory's mother and siblings that the time has come for final preparations. They begin an exhausting schedule, digging a shelter where they will live until the disaster is over. But as the hole gets deeper, so does the family's doubt about whether Caleb's prophecy is true. The Third Twin Book Blast #Giveaway

The Third Twin Book Blast

third Twin
When they were little, Lexi and her identical twin, Ava, made up a third sister, Alicia. If something broke? Alicia did it. Cookies got eaten? Alicia’s guilty. Alicia was always to blame for everything.
The game is all grown up now that the girls are seniors. They use Alicia as their cover to go out with boys who are hot but not exactly dating material. Boys they’d never, ever be with in real life.
Now one of the guys Alicia went out with has turned up dead, and Lexi wants to stop the game for good. As coincidences start piling up, Ava insists that if they follow the rules for being Alicia, everything will be fine. But when another boy is killed, the DNA evidence and surveillance photos point to only one suspect—Alicia. The girl who doesn’t exist.
As she runs from the cops, Lexi has to find the truth before another boy is murdered. Because either Ava is a killer . . . or Alicia is real.

Top Ten Tuesday #3: Ten Book Related Problems I have

Top Ten Tuesday is an original/weekly meme hosted by The broke and the bookish .

This weeks Topic: Ten Book Related Problems I Have

Book Related Problems! AHH I have so many, here goes my top ten.

Buying too many books!

Yep I have way too many books and I can't stop buying them. I think all book lovers have this problem. But how do you stop, it's IMPOSSIBLE!!

Space

My bedroom is a box room it takes like 6 steps to get from my bed to the door and that's the only floor space I have because there's book everywhere. At the bottom of my bed, stacked, under my bed, in a book case, stacked against the wall in boxes!! It is endless and if I keep doing my first book issue I am going to be stuck in my room. Well at least I will have something to read!

Kindle issue!

So I buy loads of physical books but I have now become addicted to buying eBooks. OK they don't take space, but I don't have time to read them all. Why are there so many free ebooks and so many cheap eBooks!!

Book hangovers

I am currently on a book hangover now. To me a book hangover is a book that you end up loving so much you can't get it out of your head!! I am currently having this with the 50 Shades of Grey series which I devoured this week!!! How do you cure this? HELP!

My obsession with certain books

My name is Megan and I am addicted to the Sookie Stackhouse Series and the All Souls Trilogy. Yep I could read both these series over and over and over.. and over! I read both these series every year, sometimes twice!! Oops!

Reading too slow

I read way toooo slow. Like a snail's pace slow. Honestly I which I read faster. I seem to have to take in every detail of the book and to do this, I have to read it extra slow! It's so annoying!

Being behind on way too many books

Yea I am way behind on review books mostly because of the two reasons above. I read too slow and I tend to 're read books! I need to fix this ASAP. However I say this all the time and its still the same.

Thinking book boyfriends are real

Of course I know book boyfriends aren't real *insert crazy laugh* why aren't book boyfriends real?

Books to reality

I can't really seem to leave book worlds and get on with life. I think about books,/characters 24/7!

Having too many books am not going to read

Yea I buy books, then decide nah I don't think am going to read them. But I can't throw them away or give them away. There mine!!

So what book related problems do have. Leave me a comment below and if you have a top ten this week leave me a link :)

Gathering Frost Book Blitz- Guest Post & #Giveaway

Gathering Frost
(Once Upon A Curse #1)
Release Date: 17/2/15

Summary from Goodreads:

Will his kiss be enough to revive her frozen heart?

Once Upon A Time meets La Femme Nikita in GATHERING FROST, a dystopian romance from bestselling author Kaitlyn Davis that reimagines the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty.

Jade was only a little girl when the earthquake struck. Before her eyes, half of New York City disappeared, replaced by a village that seemed torn out of a storybook. Horses and carriages. Cobblestone streets. A towering castle. And, above all, a queen with the magical ability to strip emotions away.

Ten years later and Jade has forgotten what it is to feel, to care...even to love. Working as a member of the queen's guard, she spends most of her time on the city wall staring at the crumbling skyscrapers of old New York. But everything changes when the queen's runaway son, Prince Asher, returns. Jade is tasked with an unusual mission--to let the Prince capture her, to make him trust her, and then to betray his secrets to the crown. In return, she'll earn her freedom. But life outside the queen's realm is more than Jade bargained for. Under Asher's relentless taunts, her blood begins to boil. Under his piercing gaze, her heart begins to flutter. And the more her icy soul begins to thaw, the more Jade comes to question everything she's ever known--and, more importantly, whose side she's really on.

Guest Post – Five Ways My Sleeping Beauty Is Way Cooler Than The One We Grew Up With!

Okay, I have to start by admitting that I am totally Disney obsessed and think each princess is absolutely perfect in her own way! I may be partial to Belle and Ariel, but Sleeping Beauty is still a Disney classic I could rewatch again and again and again!

But when updating a fairy tale, a writer is allowed to take liberties—and take liberties I did! Jade, the sleeping beauty in my novel, is completely different than the Aurora we all know and love! She's tougher, more modern, and made for a post-apocalyptic world. So here are five ways I think my princess kicks some Disney ass :)

1) She's not in a spell-induced coma during the major action! Jade's curse isn't one of actual sleep—it's her heart that is cursed. It's frozen over and she's in an emotional sleep—unable to love, but still able to kick butt during the entirety of the novel!

2) No insta-love for our prince and princess! While Aurora and the prince met once upon a dream and fell in love during their first dance in the woods, Jade and Prince Asher don't start out quite so smoothly. He puts a gun to her head, she punches him in the face, he takes her captive, she tries to escape…you know, the usual!

3) She doesn't need a prince to fight her battles! Jade can slay her own dragons, thank you very much! She's independent and a fighter, and pulls off some pretty awesome actions scenes during the course of the novel!

4) No fairy gifts of beauty or song! Jade is just a plain old human, no extra magic-induced gifts or fairy friends! She has to rely on her own strength to overcome the battle ahead!

5) Character growth takes center stage! While princess Aurora pretty much remains her kind beautiful self from start, to curse induced sleep, to finish—Jade has a tough road to overcome and she changes a lot along the way, all for the better. And those are the characters I enjoy reading about the most!

So you might be wondering now, how is Jade like sleeping beauty at all? Well, you can read Gathering Frost and find out! But I will say this—they both wish for more with their lives, they both miss their families, they both have adventurous spirits, they both fall under an evil curse, and without giving too much away, true love's kiss might be involved a little bit too :)

About the Author

I've always been a writer. I grew up duct taping my novels together, started writing complete manuscripts in high school and studied creative writing at Johns Hopkins University. Upon graduating, I decided it was finally time to actually give my dream career a chance. So, of course, I started writing a young adult paranormal romance series -- and no, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. I've been a true paranormal supporter for my entire life! I blame my obsession almost completely on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my all-time favorite television show. And, before you ask: Yes, I own every season... even the post WB ones! I especially challenge anyone to watch the first three seasons and not fall in love with Angel, securing a lifelong love of vampires! Other culprits of my paranormal obsession are some of my favorite authors: JK Rowling, Raymond Feist, Meg Cabot, Richelle Mead, Lynne Ewing and Tamora Pierce.

"How I Fall captures exactly how a high school crush feels. You can have endless long days—days that feel exactly the same—and then in one moment a little thing changes, a conversation finally happens, and suddenly there’s a new friend group formed where relationships are suddenly ‘on’! I loved this book (How I Fall) and I’ve already read the sequel, How I Fly as ARC. You will laugh, you will cry and you will fall so in love with Ellen and Cam’s story.” ~Becca H. Excerpt

I pause at the corner down from the bus stop so I can regain some control. Both legs—the good one and the bad—are quaking dangerously. I’m also breathing like I’ve run a marathon in thick maple syrup instead of simply walking five blocks, but who cares? I’ve just navigated sidewalks covered with snow and ice with no crutches and no cane for the first time in my life. And I did not fall. Not once!

I check my phone to record the time and what I see has me almost gasping out loud.

*Crowd roars. She waves. She bows. She’s got ten minutes to burn!*

Because I have mild Cerebral Palsy, my physical therapist, Nash, would normally get half of the credit here. But it was my idea to pull double workouts all summer and fall. This victory is all mine, but either way, I can’t wait to give him a report. He’s going to be so proud. This will prove to him there is light at the end of my tunnel. The guy is so gloom and doom. He’s always thinking about my future and making predictions based on statistics, while I’m trying to convince him that I can write my own statistics.

Today, I will get to be the one who’s right!

Breath caught up, I straighten my messenger bag and face the bus stop ready for anything and anyone this day might try to throw at me! But two steps into walking the last half block, the calf of my bad leg spikes a surprise cramp.

“Please…no,” I mutter, jerking to a stop as white-lightning fires up my entire leg. The pain’s so harsh I could swear it’s stopped my heart. Scanning for anything that can save me from a public wobble-wobble-Ellen-falls-down event, I veer off the sidewalk and head for the cars parked on the street. Luckily, I’ve locked my hand onto a car mirror just as the knee on my bad leg buckles completely. For insurance, I lean most of my upper body weight on the dripping car hood, happy that my lumpy, hand-me-down jacket is at least waterproof. Only then do I pull in a slow steady breath and test—and beg—and pray—for my still trembling good leg to be okay.

Review

Diamond Rings are deadly things was an enjoyable read. It had a slight mystery and more of a romance with a bit of self discovery thrown in. I have to say I was surprised by how much I liked it. I was really immersed in the protagonist's story.

The book revolves around Adrielle Pyper who is starting a new wedding business, you know she is starting a fresh after a tradgey but you don't know what. Then you throw diamonds stowed in wedding dresses into the mix and you have an addictive storyline.

Diamond Rings are deadly things has some great characters. I liked the protagonist and loved her friend, Lorea. She is a great fun relief in the book. I also loved Luke he is totally swoonworthy but was unsure of Dallas. There is a slight love triangle but it's not totally over the top.

I was totally thrown by the twist at the end of the story, I did not see it coming. Even though I didn't trust the character I was still totally shocked.

Overall I really enjoyed Diamond Rings are Deadly Things, it had a little mystery, self discovery, twists and turns and a good romance.

Note: At the start of each chapter there is some cute wedding tips or idea. I totally loved this!

  Praise:

Fun book. When it first started out, I was afraid it was going to be shallow (lots of references to hot guys, etc) but it turned out to be a thoughtful story with likable characters. I look forward to reading more from this author. ~ Author Karey White

EXCERPT

“Who’s this lovely young lady?” Crouched next to Ella, Lucas looks like a giant. Dark jeans stretch over his muscled thighs. I hear Lana sighing.
It takes a lot of control not to grab my daughter and shelter her from Lucas. Take her away where he can’t even see her, let alone talk to her.
“I’m not allowed to talk to strangers, mister.” Ella looks at me for approval.
I nod and smile at her, but my smile fades at Madame V’s words, “He’s not a stranger, ma petite. He’s my friend and your mommy lets you talk to him. Right, Jane?”

Lucas looks at me for the first time since entering the room, one eyebrow as cocked as his confidence.
“Right,” I say between my teeth.
“My name is Ella, Ella Rae Sulliban.” My daughter extends her chubby hand and looks at Lucas with that expression I know so well when someone piques her interest. Oh, no, not my daughter, too!
Lucas takes her hand in his and kisses it, which earns him a giggle from Ella. “Oh, Ella, Ella Rae Sullivan, are you a princess?” He squints his eyes. “Or maybe a fairy? You look like one, you know? So beautiful, where did you come from?”

“From my mommy’s belly.” Ella points toward me then adds, “And what’s your name, mister?”
There’s laugh behind Lucas’ covered mouth and I thank him silently for not laughing aloud at Ella’s innocent answer.
“My name is Lucas, Lucas Oliver. Pleased to meet you, Ella, Ella Rae Sullivan.”
Ella giggles. “No, it’s only Ella Rae Sulliban.” She raises one finger, “Not Ella, Ella Rae Sulliban.” Now there are two fingers up in the air right in front of Lucas’ face.

“Isn’t she adorable?” Madame V gets up from the chair and kneels next to Lucas and Ella, even though I’m not done with her makeup, nor is Lana with the hairdo. “We should put photos of her in the magazine, what do you think?”
Lucas straightens and hooks both hands in his front pockets, the faded blue V-neck shirt tight over his muscles. A playful smile breezes over his lips, but the smile doesn’t reach his kiwi-green eyes. Staring at me he says, “She doesn’t do photos.”
