July 2018 Wrap Up & August Priority Reads

This month has been a great month bookish wise. I started back to blogging regularly, have been posting daily on Instagram and read some great books. Here is the month at a quick glance:

Books Read

Rainy Day Friends (Wildstone #2) by Jill Shalvis- Adult Contemporary Romance - Released June 2018- Received ebook for review- Rating: 3.5 Stars

I really enjoyed this book in the series. It wasn't as good as the first book and the novella but still enjoyable mine the less.

Seven Sons (Gypsy Brothers #1) by Lili St Germain- Dark Adult Romance - Released 2014- Read Ebook- Rating: 3.25 Stars

Six Brothers (Gypsy Brothers #2) by Lili St James- Dark Adult Romance -Released 2014-Read Ebook- Rating - 3 Stars

The Gypsy Brothers series is a set of novellas following the same story. I did enjoy the first two books but it's very dark and am not sure in all honesty what my feelings are on it.

Verto Veneri (The Unforgettable Series #1) by Autumn Archer- Adult Contemporary Romance - Released June 2018- Received e arc from publisher for review- Rating- 3.5 Stars

This is another novella, the first in a series. I did enjoy it and am looking forward to the next book in the series as it left on a  cliff hanger.

Royal 's (Royal's #1) by Rachel Hawkins- YA Contemporary Romance - Released May 2018-Read brought physical copy- Rating - 4.25 Stars

I really enjoyed Royal 's it was such a fun, funny book with a serious side thrown in. It is up there with one of my favourites of the year. I look forward to the next book in the series next year.

Saving The Princess by Helena Newbury- Adult Romance Suspense -  Released Jan 2018- Read Ebook- Rating: 4 Stars

I really enjoyed this book it was fast paced, had a swoon worthy romance and was just like watching a movie. Note: For some reason my book was called Royal Guard however it is Saving The Princess am not 100 per cent sure if there's been a name change.

Can't Wait Wednesday #1- Richer Than Sin by Meghan March

Can't Wait Wednesday is hosted by Wishful Endings a weekly meme where we share books we are excited to read but haven't been released yet. Can't wait Wednesday is based on Waiting On Wednesday which was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine

Today's pick is Richer Than Sin by Meghan March, the first book in The Sin Trilogy releasing August 14th. Its am adult contemporary romance and I am so excited to read it. I discovered Meghan March earlier in the year and she has now become an auto but author for me. Bring on August 14th!

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends. Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes. I didn’t know or care what her name was. Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man. She hates me, and she should. I objected on her wedding day. Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger. They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable. I’ll never be done with her.

What book can you not wait to read?

Sunday Post #51 - The most exciting book news

The Sunday post which created by Caffeinated Book Reviewer this is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the week previous and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review!

Happy Sunday! How has your week been? It's been a quiet week for me. I was back at work after a week's Hoilday and it was tough getting back into my routine more so than usual. This week I read my first physical book of the year which is crazy seeing as it's July but I just love my e reader. However I did love Royals by Rachel Hawkins and it's made me want to pick up more of my physical books.

This week in the blog I managed to get two posts up out of the three I wanted to do that isn't too bad. The other post that didn't go up this week will hopefully go up on Monday.

Beautiful Libraries I would like to Visit (Inspired by The Library Of Trinity College Dublin, Pocket Photo Book)

As a lover of books I of course love a good library and there are some beautiful libraries around the world. One such library I have always wanted to visit is The Library Of Trinity College Dublin. It is one of the most stunning libraries and living a few hours away I have know excuse why I still haven't visited. But luckily for me in the meantime I received for review a gorgeous pocket photo book which allows me to "experience the Long Room as if for the first time, revealing the monumentality of the space, the finely wrought details of its architecture, and some of the secrets that lie between the leather-bound covers of its rare-book collection." Source

The photos taken by Harry Cory Wright are stunning and the book as a whole is beautiful to look though and imagine walking the length of the Long Room. It has an introduction from Librarian and College Archivist Helen Shelton who gaves us an insight into her daily experiences of being in hands down the most beautiful library in the world in my opinion. The pocket photo book would make a beautiful gift for any book lover and it has made me even more excited to visit The Library Of Trinity College. Until then I have my own copy of this beautiful book. Thank you to Thames & Hudson for a copy for an honest review review.

This book inspired me to think of some beautiful libraries around the world that I would love to visit. Here is my top five:

1) The Bodleian Library- University Of Oxford, England
2) Stuttgart City Library, Stuttgart Germany
3) Clementinum National Library, Prague
4) New York Public Library, USA
5) George Peabody Library, USA

What is a library you really want to visit?

20 Questions Book Tag Part one

I saw the 20 question book tag over @ A GREAT Read Book Blog and it looked like fun. As there is 20 Questions am dividing this tag in to two posts as I tend to go on a bit :) So here is the first ten questions of the the 20 Question book tag!

How Many Books Is Too Many Books In A Series?

I love a good long series and some of my favourites books are in super long series.I have read some series where I wanted more and some where one book has been a book too far. I think it really depends on how the author is writing it. Harry Potter at seven books doesn't feel like too much, it feels like enough for the story. The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris is 13 books long and I loved all 13 books. Whereas The Morganville Vampire Series by Rachel Caine lost me at book 8. I admire an author who can write a complex series of so many books and not make me bored or think why are we still in this world.

How Do You Feel About Cliffhanger's?

I hate them but I also love them. I'm conflicted... I tend to read a series of books when there all published and back to back so I literally finish one book and pick up the next one. And I have found that now a days with the books I read theres only a few months between releases of books in the series so it's not a big long wait. Recently I read a couple of Meghan March's trilogies and had to wait for one book in the series and it was only a few weeks but it was a struggle because of the cliffhanger. On the other hand if there's a cliffhanger at the end of a standalone and its open to your interpretation to decide what happened, I am so annoyed. I dont want to invision what could have been am a lazy reader just tell me. LOL

Hardcover or Paperback?

I prefer paperback its the majority of what I own and for some reason in the UK I dont see alot of books releasing in hardback first its usually tall big paperbacks if anything. I like a hardcover if it's one of my fave books or series as I will then collect multiple editions in both formats. I'm weird like that.
Favourite Book?

I am one of those people that can tell you my favourite book. And am cheating be cause it's a trilogy but its the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. I go on about this series so much and post alot of photos on my Instagram of it. I just love it so much.

Least Favourite book?

I don't think I have a least favourite book. Of course not every book is going to be for me. But a book that recently disappointed me was Running Mate by Katie Ashley. I feel that it really needed edited so bad, and because of this I ended up flicking the book in the end.

Love Triangle. YES OR NO?

I used to not mind them but now am more toward I dont like them. I read alot of adult contemporary romance and I would rather the conflict in the relationship come from mis communication, some major twist rather than another person.

The Most Recent Book You Couldn't Finish.

On my currently reading list on Goodreads I have a couple of books sitting there that I haven't touched since May and early June. They are Beneath The Lies by Meghan March and Mafia Princess by Bella J. I dont think am going finish Mafia Princess but I think I will go back to the Meghan March book.

A Book Your Currently Reading?

I am currently reading Rainy Day Friends by Jill Shalvis book two of the Wildstone series. I am enjoying it but not as much as the first book and the novella in the series.

The Last Book You Recommend To Someone?

A repeat answer but I always am and will continue to recommend the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. It's my book baby. I love the complex storyline, the settings, the characters and the writing. It's just a perfect book!

Oldest Book You've Read?

I think it's probably To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I don't read a lot of classics but this is one of my favourites.

That is the first 10 questions! What is the oldest book you have read? Leave me your comments below!
