The last thing Damon wants is to get involved with Sophie again. It was hard enough to walk away the first time. But she's in trouble, her father's reputation is under attack, and the lives of his fellow agents are at stake if there's a traitor in their midst.
When someone starts shooting at them, they have no choice but to go on the run and off the grid. Everyone in their world becomes a suspect. They want to uncover the truth, but will it turn out to be the last thing they expect? Proving her father's innocence might just cost them their hearts…and their lives…

Perilous Trust was an action packed romantic suspense novel that from the first page you are bang in the middle of the story.
Perilous Trust is about Sophie who's father is an FBI agent, one day she gets voice mails from her father saying he's sorry and to run and not trust anyone. It turns out Sophie's dad was killed and who killed him could now be after Sophie. This starts Sophie on a trail of discovery while her life is currently on the line. Drop in Damon a one night stand she couldn't forget from years ago, a fellow FBI agent of her fathers and the story takes of.
The story was action packed throughout, you didn't know who was a traitor, who to trust and when you did trust someone, doubts resumed. The overall suspense was good, I didn't have a clue who the real "evil " was. I liked trying to work out what was happening and who the main players where. I enjoyed both Damon and Sophies characters, I enjoyed there interaction and the romance was nice. The one thing that I did struggle with was the pacing at times it was action packed, then slowed in the middle but it did pick up after a few chapters in the middle which I liked.
I liked Barbara' Freethy's writing, the story was told in duel POVs which definelty made for a good read to see both perspectives of the case developing. I also liked the side characters woven into the story. I am looking forward to seeing more of them in the series.
Overall I enjoyed Perilous Trust it has action, mystery and romance and read like a TV show, I could picture everything happening clearly! A 3.5 star read!
