YA Feature: Jordan Deen & ARC paperback #Giveaway

This week on my YA Feature is author Jordan Deen who releases her novel, Breaking Lauren, May 24th!

Can you tell me a little about yourself and how you got into writing?
First, thank you so much for having me on your website! And hello to all of your followers. A little about me: I am really outgoing. I can make friends pretty much everywhere and I love to meet new people. I am an adoptive mother of one little boy and I advocate for abused children and women. Ive been writing since I was about seven years old and just really never stopped. I find writing things out helps calm me and come to terms with things I am dealing with.

Can you tell us a little about your new series Breaking Lauren?

Breaking Lauren is a two point of view novel that follows extremely bad boy Danny, and sheltered Lauren. Danny has had a rough go of life; he has spent a year in juvenile hall and he no longer fits into the world he once called home. He is lost and fantastically broken. Lauren is lost but in a much different way. She is running from the small town she once called home because her family went from being well liked, to being the talk of the town in a really bad way. Lauren is confused, hurt, and just as lost as Danny.

Where did you get the idea for Breaking Lauren?

This book, ironically, is based on loosely on real life events. But, the names and places have been changed to protect the innocent. LOL

Breaking Lauren is the first in a series. How many will there be?

Currently, there are four planned books in the series. Each to be released approximately 6 to 9 months apart. Of course, with the publishing industry the way that it is, that could change.

You also have another book series The Crescent series. Tell us a little about it?

The Crescent series follows 17 year old Lacey Quinn as she discovers that she was stolen as a child, oh, and shes a werewolf! In the first book, she is struggling to figure out why she doesnt fit into her family and why she is torn between two boys, Brandon and Alex. When she finds out her family isnt really hers, it starts a chain of events that she cant stop. Its a really fun read.

The third book in The Crescent series is yet to be released. How far are you in the process with book three?

Full Moon, the third and final book in the series is still underway. Since it is the last in the series, it has been harder to write! Plus, I want to do that amazing series justice. Currently, the proposed release will be in October 2012.

Why should we read Breaking Lauren in one sentence?

Because Danny is hot! J

Breaking Lauren will be available May 24th!
