Best Covers of 2017

Top 10 of 2017

Top 10 of 2017 is hosted by Rachel of Fiktshun,

Day two of Top Ten is best book covers of 2017. A rule is it must have been released in 2017 and would be best if you had read it, but it's not required.

I could pick so many beautiful book covers that I haven't read but I'm going to stick to the rules and give you 10 of the best book covers of books I have read in 2017!

This year I read the first three books in KA Linde's adult contemporary romance series and I really enjoyed it. I also really like these covers but in particular The Wright Brother cover as I love the pink in the title. I have to say all of them look so good together.

I love all of Jodi's books and I have read everyone. I love the cover of The Forbidden, I love the simplicity of it.

Another adult contemporary romance book cover. I really like this cover. I usually don't like covers with people on them but I like this one because you don't see there full faces and it just really appeals to me for some reason.

This is by far one of my favourite covers its just so beautiful. I love how the man is merges with the forest. Its just such a beautiful cover and the story is really good as well.

This is another beautiful cover. I love the blue and again I really like the people on the cover even though I usually don't.

This whole series has beautiful covers but this is my favourite out of them. They are just so striking and I loved this story.

Both the covers above really caught my eye. I think its because of the simplicity and the striking colour.

I just love this cover it represents the book so well. And the inside is amazing.

Finally Mind The Gap is a cover that again simple but really represents the story.

What are some of your favourite covers? Leave me a comment below. Also if you haven't saw my top ten best books of 2017 check it out here

Top Ten Best Books I have read in 2017

Top 10 of 2017 is hosted by Rachel of Fiktshun,

It is that time of year again, our top ten bests of the year and I am excited to share my favourites with you. This year I moved away from YA and read a ton of adult books, you can check out ten of my favourites here Today is the top ten best books I have read this year which is a mix of both YA and Adult. Lets go! These are in know particular order!

Even though I did say this was in no particular order, Inferno book two of the Blood For Blood Trilogy by Catherine Doyle is my favourite book of the year. It is the only book I gave a 5 star to in 2017 and its my only 5 star in over a year. I re read the first book in the trilogy this year, then read the final two books and I loved it so much especially Inferno. Its an upper YA that doesn't shy away from dark themes. It's Romano and Juliet meets the Sopranos and I haven't had a book shock me in a long time. I highly recommend this series so much!!!

So I kinda lied this is my second favourite book of the year. I adored this book so, so much, it was so close to getting 5 stars and making my top pick. Royal Affair is a adult contemporary romance and it is just so good! It's such a sexy romance with a swoonworthy male lead but it also has depth and a nice plot. Highly, highly recommend!

This was one of my first reads of the year and it is still a book I think about. It's an adult contemporary romance that I really enjoyed giving it 4.5 stars. It is just the perfect rom-com book and it gave me all the feels. It was fast paced and addictive and I loved the romance.

Alex Approximately is one of the thirteen YA books I read this year and I really enjoyed it so much. It's a YA contemporary romance that deals with real life issues as well and I really enjoyed it thus it made my list!

Most Of All You is a book that really surprised me. It's a emotionally heart breaking adult contemporary romance. The writing was stunning. The characters where we'll developed and the romance was beautiful. It deals with some hard topics but I highly recommend it.

This year I read three of Jodi's book. And I loved them all but All I Am a novella all about a character called Drew from her best selling This Man series just scored a tiny bit above the rest. The This Man series is my favourite of Jodi's and to get a closer look at a character I have always been intrigued by was fantastic.

It Only Happens in the movies was a fantastic upper YA book that I really enjoyed. The main protagonist is A+, the concept of the story was fantastic and I just cant recommend it highly enough.

Stubborn As A Mule is the second book in The Sex and Sweet Tea series but can be read as a standalone and I absolutely adored this book, it was such a cute, sweet southern romance at its best.

I binge read the Boston Underworld series by A.Zavarelli earlier on in the year and really enjoyed it. This year and well into 2018 I have and will be reading a lot of mafia romance books as I love them so much. Reaper is the second book in the series and it's my favourite. This series is dark and shocking and sometimes just down right wrong but I really like it.

Another Mafia book but one I just read this month. I binge read the series and loved it. It was just so good and sneaked on to my list.

Finally an honourable mention to Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella. This is the second book I read this year and I really liked it. It deals with a 14 year old struggling with her mental health and it really stuck a cord with me.

That's it my top ten of 2017. Let some of your favourites of 2017. Come back tomorrow for more favourites of the year.

Book Recommendations for book lovers from book lovers!

I asked my fellow book lovers this question. What is a must have book for book lovers? This is the answers I got.

"Everyone needs to read Nevernight and Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff...because who doesn't want a book that starts with-"People often shit themselves when they die.." And there's a super badass female heroine, a dramatic backstory and phenomenal writing. " @Giota_the_reader

"Umm.. I'll say Bookishly Ever After. A book about a girl that loves books and knitting and if that's not the perfect combo, I don't know what is." @ruby.books

 "Fangirl!!!" @massachusettsnovel

"I would say Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor or Red Rising by Pierce Brown." @bellesbeastlybookshelf

"Poison Study by Maria V Snyder, it's a bit older but it's a fast paced fantasy with a rich array of characters that you can't help but fall in love with. Also has some diverse topics subtly mixed in which I really appreciate." @thepagemistress

"I would recommend The Novice by Taran Matharu, it is a really wonderful fantasy book."@magicofbooksnl

"This Savage Song, it really makes you think about what makes up a monster, that the line between good and bad isn't always clear cut as we'd like it to be and that romance is not ALWAYS a necessity for a good book." @e.c.victoria

"Daughter Of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller is amazing, witty, romantic and definitely a must read for all YA book lovers." @darkfaerietales_

"His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman, Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma and Red Rising by Pierce Brown." reviews_from_a_bookworm

"I would say The Princess Bride by William Goldman. This is a book for everyone, but a most for all book lovers. The story has a little bit for any readers, whether it's romance, adventure, action or fantasy. The narrative has an oral storytelling aspect that is incredibly unique and heartwarming. The Princess Bride is one that I will always recommend because each time I read it, I always notice something new." @jeannamichel

"Kulti by Mariana Zapata is my all time favourite book! Slow burn, friends to lvers, sports romance, older hero." @laceybooklovers

"I mean one is impossible but book lovers all need to have at least one book by Tolkien, Lewis and Shakespeare.. Of course I think everyone needs Anne of Green Gables & Little Woman too..." @marissa_writes

"Between The Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer. It's about a girl that discovers that the Prince in her favourite book is real. Perfect for book lovers." @bookfever

"The Likeness by Tana French. This book is a masterclass in how to create a well written psychological thriller, intense, darker than dark and with characters so real that I can't believe they only exist within the pages of a book. OK you have to suspend belief to go with the plotline but just do it, it's worth it. A book about fitting in and belonging but the catch is it's a place you should never be." @trishhartigan

"The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon or All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven." @mistressofromance

"Umm...Angelfall Trilogy, Me Before You, Harry Potter of course, Wizard Of Oz." @bookishgirl89,

"I will always advocate for The Infernal Devices." @glimpses_of_me

"My favourite reads this year have been Carry On, Daughter of the Priate King and Scythe." @booksnbeaches

"An Ember In The Ashes and Flame In The Mist. Also Warcross for scifi lovers." @abookishthought

"The Scorpio Races is one of my all time favourite books." @_livelaughread

"I'll say Caraval by Stephanie Garber. " @lisa_lostinlit

"So I'm going say The Hate U Give it is a fundamental read for everyone. Also Lynsey Sands Argeneau Series, it's amazing as well. This series is a paranormal and adult. Every book is humorous, action packed and steamy! Definitely a must read!" @bookish_4_life

"Hmm..I would say Lunar Chronicles. Storm Siren by Mary Weber is also excellent." @nadinebrandes

"Books that I would probably say are Harry Potter, Grimm Fairy Tales, Alice in Wonderland. Personal faces are Illuminae and Stalking Jack The Ripper." @fearyourex

"The Darker Shades of Magic Series by V.E. Schwab is a must read! And for any avid book collector who loves pretty books like me, the new collector's edition of A Darker Shade is stunning and you just need it in your life." @incaseofbookishness

"Only book I can think of that I would recommend to everyone is The Humans by Matt Haig. It's my favourite book!! @amyslittleworld_

"It would be The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini." @thebookishangel

"I think I'd have to go with Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. Perfect for Christmas, funny, and even through its part of a series, it can still be read in its own " @bookbookowl

"Ready Player one! It's my new favourite and the movie comes out in March." @xenatine

My recommendation is always the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. Magic, history, romance, adventure, science and so much more!

Release Day: A Very Married Christmas by Samantha Chase

Happy Release day to A Very Married Christmas by Samantha Chase. Check out a excerp below and get the book now!

About A VERY MARRIED CHRISTMAS

She’s ready to deck the halls…
But not with wedding decorations.

For the most part, Melanie Harper has made her peace with her negative feelings toward Christmas. Thanks to her fiancé, she’s even learned to enjoy the holiday. But that doesn’t mean she wants to share it with her wedding day!

He’s dreaming of a white Christmas…
Complete with a wedding!

Ever since they first met, Josiah Stone has done his best to show Melanie how magical Christmas can be. He’s gotten her to participate in parades, decorate trees and even celebrate the holiday, but asking her to marry him on Christmas Eve just might be more than she’s ready for.

Will this be a very Merry or very Married Christmas?

Add A VERY MARRIED CHRISTMAS to your Goodreads shelf HERE!

Read an excerpt of A VERY MARRIED CHRISTMAS;

“What?” she cried.

Josiah knew he was taking a big risk in presenting this to her—after all, Melanie had grown up hating Christmas. Hell, he’d only gotten her to have some good feelings toward the holiday in the last two years! But he knew if she’d just give him a chance, he’d be able to prove to her how a Christmas wedding would be amazing.

Jumping to his feet, he looked down at her shocked expression and did his best to keep his tone light and encouraging.

“Just…hear me out, okay?”

The look on her face said she would, but she certainly wasn’t happy about it.

“What could be better than getting married during such a festive time of the year?” he began but didn’t give her a chance to reply. “Think about it—everything, everywhere is already beautifully decorated. Any place we go won’t require much from us because it will already be decorated! The Poinsettias, Christmas trees, the lights…all that work will be done for us.”

“Josiah…”

“And everyone will be in town already so there won’t be a need for them to make a separate trip.”

“Who’s everyone? My dad is already here; he’s the only family I have and your family doesn’t live that far away. It’s hardly like they’d be making a huge sacrifice to come to town,” she countered.

“But all of our friends will be here too. You know how most people we know tend to travel either before Christmas or after the new year because they love all the festivities here in town Christmas week.”

Melanie let out a small sigh. “Look, I get what you’re saying. I really do. But…you know my feelings on Christmas.”

He immediately sat back down at her side. “And we’ve come such a long way, Mel! When we first met, you hated the holidays and everything about them. But after that first Christmas here, you changed. You saw how it all wasn’t so bad and—admit it—you even enjoyed it.”

She gave him a sour look. “I know that first Christmas was amazing but only because you made it that way for me. You went out of your way to make up for every single crappy Christmas I’d had since I was five!”

“And what about last year?” he prodded.

Another sigh. “You proposed last Christmas so of course that’s going to make for a great memory.”

“So you see…”

“But,” she quickly interrupted, “that doesn’t mean I want to get married during the month of December or anywhere near Christmas!”

He silently admitted to himself that he knew there were going to be some challenges in getting Melanie to see his way of thinking, but he was kind of hopeful that she wouldn’t be quite this hostile toward the idea. How was he supposed to convince her that this could be good for them? Great, even? What could he possibly do to show her how wonderful a Christmas wedding could be?

#Review Boston Underground Series by A.Zavarelli

Today I have a series review of the Underground Series by A.Zavarelli. A dark contemporary romance. Check out my review below and let me know your thoughts.

In the summer I binge read the first four books in the Boston Underground Series by A. Zaverlli back to back after seeing it over in Geybie's Book Blog. They are just so addictive! They are the type of books that aren't perfect but you just can't stop reading them.

The Boston Underground Series is a dark contemporary romance set in the world of the mafia. They are dark, violent, have a ton of sex and are just so ADDICTIVE. The character's are morally grey, the men are alphas and dominating and I just had a good time reading them.

Each book can be read as standalone as it follows a different couple but personally I like reading series in order even if you don't have to. Now the books aren't perfect, the plot was OK, I liked some characters and disliked others and sometimes I was reading and thinking WTF but guys they where so worth it for a fun time.

Overall I would give the series overall a 3.75 rating! Check them out of you just want a series to binge and don't mind everything mentioned in the review!

Note: The series isn't finished yet.

Life is hard.
There’s no secret in that statement.
Life. Is. Hard.
Simple enough.
But my life hasn’t just been hard…

I’ve gotten used to it over the years—come to expect it really. So when fate hands me yet another big f*ck you, I’m not even a little bit surprised. Why should I be? I mean, after everything I’ve been through, why not throw my best friend’s ex-boyfriend into the mix and see how royally I can screw this up too.
It doesn’t matter that he loved her first.
It doesn’t matter that he’s wrong for me in every way possible.
It doesn’t matter that being with him could ruin everything.
One touch and I already know it’s too late.

When Dawn Breaks is a standalone Contemporary Romance.
