The Sunday Post was created by Caffeniated Book Reviewer this is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the week previous and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review
I haven't done a Sunday Post in a month! I have no excuse why, it is one of my favourite memes and I don't know why I haven't :( but I am hoping to get back on track now. As you have probably noticed I haven't had a review since the 13th Febuary nearly a month ago and I can't guarantee any this month as I have been on a mega reading binge with two book series. The first being The 50 Shades Trilogy by E.L James and After Series by Anna Todd. If you have read these books you know they are super long! Like 500, 600 pages long and I am such a slow reader. I read the 50 Shades Trilogy in 8 days which is actually not too bad for me but for the last 17 days I have been reading the After Series and there super long. I am currently on After We Fell and its 834 pages. So it has put me way behind on review books, I am hoping come the end of this month I will be back on track as I have so many great books for review. I must say I am loving the After Series and I loved the 50 Shades Trilogy I gave them all 5*.
One thing I haven't done is post my thoughts on the 50 Shades Trilogy and the movie which I have seen. Would you like to see that? I was unsure whether to post as my blog is mainly YA and also am scared of what people will say about my opinions which I shouldn't be but am only human. Leave me a comment with your thoughts below.
Other going on's in my life
Current song obsession is an old one that I just discovered, Panic at the Disco, This is Gospel.
New TV show obsession, Banished on BBC2.
Set in the first penal colony founded by the British in New South Wales, Australia, in the year 1788; in which the British convicts live alongside their Royal Navy marine guards and their officers. Source
Currently obsessing over Lucky Charms. Yum!

Banished looks good, I recognize one of the actors from Dr Who and Being human. Do what you want with the 50soG review, it's your blog after all. If you're afraid to hurt somebody's feelings, just post a warning at the top of the post ? Even if I guess everyone knows what this novel is about, now :) Enjoy your book haul and have a great week ;)
ReplyDeleteYea I love Russel Tovey as an actor. Yea I think I have finally decided to post my review next week. :)
DeleteI think 50 Shades is pretty safe. It's so everywhere that I don't thinking about it will offend anyone. You can always kind of edit what you're saying to be more PG or PG-13. I'd be interested to see what you thought of the series. I only read the first one and while I enjoyed it I just somehow never got around to reading the next 2. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYea everyone knows what it's about now LOL
DeleteI think you should be able to talk about 50 Shades. Most kids in their teens know more about sex than we do. http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/03/spring-fever.html
ReplyDeleteLol I totally agree teens of today are scary too much knowledge thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteBanished sounds good. I think you should post about 50 Shades if you want to. You don't have to stick with YA. I have YA in my blog's title but I post about books from middle grade to adult. Anyone who doesn't want to read it can skip that post.
ReplyDeleteAgreed thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteI haven't read the 50 Shades books or seen the movie, but I won't be offended by your thoughts....LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd who knows? I may get around to the movie at some point.
Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Lol I just got in to them because I was being dragged to see the movie LOL have a great week :)
DeleteThat is a lot of books. :) Reading for fun is so wonderful, isn't it? We all need to do it now and then. As for 50 Shades, my feeling is that it's your blog, you can do whatever you want. If a lot your readers are younger,. then post a warning in the title or at the very beginning of the post. Just because you are primarily YA doesn't mean that you can't branch out. As for what other people, pffft. Your opinion is just as valid so go ahead and write! (I do know what you mean though; there have been books where I had a similar reaction.)
ReplyDeleteI love reading for fun once in a while. Yea I agree I just never want to be controversial lol have a great week :)
DeleteI haven't heard of the Anna Todd series so I think I am going to go and check those out. I think it is your blog so you should share your thoughts on whatever you like :) If people don't like it then they don't need to read it. I have a copy of Bound by Prophecy on my kindle now as well and am looking forward to reading it. Have a great week and I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteYou have to read the After Series it's amazing. Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteDid you get the Green Lucky Charms? Glad you are having fun reading but so glad you did a Sunday Post. We missed you. You got Maas so exciting.enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think it is great that you are tackling some longer reads. Not everyone has the time to just sit and read for 4 days straight. Take your time so you can tell us all about it when you write the reviews. I think you should post whatever you want on your site. It is not like YA readers have never heard of 50 shades, but that is my opinion. I am glad you are back to Sunday Posts again. I missed them.
ReplyDeleteI AM SO OBSESSED WITH PANIC AT THE DISCO. I love the song Nicotine, but This is Gospel is my favorite. :) The music video is awesome too so I can see why you love it!
ReplyDeleteA Court of Thorns and Roses sounds really good. I recently read All Fall Down and I loved it! I Hope you enjoy your books. :)
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
I would love to see your thoughts on 50 Shades as I'm a big fan too. I think that even though your blog is mostly YA if you keep your opinions clean, which I'm sure you would, you should be ok. Most people have a pretty good idea what the book entails in any case.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week and happy reading!
Ahh, ACOTAR! I want! I need! I am also really contemplating buying All Fall Down, because it is nice and cheap on Book Depository right now and... I want it! As for 50 Shades, I say if you want to post, go for it! I mean, I loathed the books with the heat of a thousand suns, but hey, to each his own! You should certainly discuss them if you'd like :) Hope you have a great week, and enjoy all the new lovely books!
ReplyDeleteShannon @ It Starts At Midnight
If you want to post on Fifty, go ahead. If you're concerned about younger readers, you may just put an "Adult Content" in the title as a warning. You've picked up some great books! Some I already have on my kindle but I haven't gotten to. I really want to get the Shadowhunter book & A Court of Thorns and Roses. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh yay! You got ACOTAR! I'm with the others, if you want to post the review on 50 Shades go for it! Just put a bit of a warning at the top of the post saying it has 18+ content.
