Sunday Post #11 Spring Time & Solar Eclipses

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post was created by Caffeniated Book Reviewer this is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the week previous and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review

Life Wise

It's the first weekend of Spring and it feels like it. For the last few days here in Northern Ireland the weather has been slowly improving with blue skies and temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees. That may be freezing for some but we in Northern Ireland are used to the cold and rain so to have blue skies and a little warmth is lovely. I hope it stays nice over the next few weeks and is lovely over the Easter holidays which is fast approaching.

Also the solar eclipse on Friday was amazing. I got way too excited and thus annoyed my work colleagues but it was cool to see. It didn't go completely dark but it got semi dark. I remember seeing the last solar eclipse in 1999, so it was awesome to have seen two in my lifetime.

Book wise

I love YA and I am never going to stop, however I never thought this would happen but my taste in books has started to change. It started with reading 50 Shades of grey in February and loving them. (I finally put my 50 Shades thoughts post up so hop over and check it out below and leave me your thoughts) I then read the After Series by Anna Todd and now am currently devouring Sylvia Day's Crossfire series. So needless to say you will be seeing some more adult and new adult books on my blog over the coming months but I am never going stop loving and reading YA. It could be just a current reading phrase but am loving the difference in the YA and adult reads.

P.s. My new schedule should be starting in April. See last weeks Sunday Post for more info.

  4. We all go through phases with reading. I didn't even read YA at all until a few years ago and then I gravitated towards dystopian and fantasy. The eclipse sounds great, your co-workers need to embrace life and live in the moment..lol

  6. We've blue skies down South too and it feels great. The eclipse was a bit of a let down too as we had nothing but cloud that morning so it just got a bit dark and that was it! And now I have to wait for 2026 for the next one :O
I love checking out lots of different genres and it keeps them all fresh for me. YA will always be one of my favs though :) Have a great week and enjoy your books.

  7. I am so jealous about the eclipse! I've always wanted to see one (solar or lunar) but we never get to see them where I live. One day, I hope. It's on my bucket list.

I keep seeing The Truth About Jack everywhere! I haven't heard any response yet, so I'm curious as to what you'll think of it.

  10. I was not a fan of the Fifty Shades books, I didn't think the writing was very good. But I do want to read the Anna Todd series. Looks like you got some good books this week! Thanks for stopping by my Sunday post earlier!

  11. Wow, tons of great books for you this week! And I am insanely jealous of your nice weather! It has been hovering just around freezing (32 here, 0 for you) all week, and SNOWED 6 inches on the first day of spring. I do not approve. Hope you continue to enjoy nice weather, and all the great new books :)

  13. I didn't get to see the eclipse, so I'm pretty jealous. I think I might have to try the After series. I saw the audiobook on my libraries' app and I've seen so many people talk about the series. I hope you enjoy your new books!

  14. I have yet to read a Sylvia Day book. I feel pretty ashamed admitting that!

  15. I am so jealous that you experienced the solar eclipse and another in 1999. The last one I remember was when I was in 4th grade back in the 80s. I would have been right there with you being over the top excited. So cool! Glad you are reading so many great books and finding new genres to interest you. :)

  17. So many pretty books! The solar eclipse was a bit disappointing from Europe, but I saw so many awesome pictures!

  18. I remember watching the eclipse in 1999 at work, we all went on the roof and celebrated :) But this year, it was so cloudy and grey that we hardly noticed it was getting darker so I'm happy for you you were able to enjoy it. Since I started reviewing on a blog, my tastes have evolved too, change is good ;) Have a great week !
