Sometimes getting lost is the only way to find your way home…

I’m grateful for many things—my work, my apartment, my amazing friends.  But after that night years ago, I’m left with an aching weight I can’t escape.  And it’s keeping me from living and loving the way I desperately want.  So when a ruggedly handsome cop pulls me over, I’m shocked by what just the sight of him does to me—stirring up feelings I didn’t think were possible again.

Cayden Sinclair is undoubtedly one of the good guys.  A former Marine who’s so sexy I can’t seem to keep my hands to myself.  But there are things I’m not ready to share, things that could change everything between us.  Cayden deserves to have the life he’s always wanted—which means walking away from him.  But I don’t know if I’ll ever find the strength to let him go…

Excerpt

I open the door for Ren, help her down, then fold her seat forward and grab my hiking gear from the back. I’ve got a couple GPS devices, bottles of water, bug spray, power bars, first-aid kit, flashlight, batteries, multipurpose tool, and matches. I went for the smaller backpack knowing we wouldn’t be doing any major hiking today. I’ll go easy on her, I want there to be a second date.

Before shouldering the pack, I unzip it and pull out a can of bug spray. Remembering the subtle wafts of Ren’s tropical perfume and baby powder scent back at her apartment, I toss her the can. “You’re going to need this. Being this close to the river, the area is a breeding ground for mosquitoes.”

Ren catches the can and pops the lid off. “Thanks.” She sighs and extends her left arm, making several passes. A heavy mist coats her skin and she repeats the process over her other arm, her long, slender legs, neck, and then turns the can and showers her clothes and hair.
I chuckle at her excessiveness. “Hopefully it’s just the bugs you’re trying to keep away.”

A sheepish smile tugs at the corner of her bow-shaped mouth. She wrinkles her nose and my heart skips a beat. “I hate to admit this, but I’m terrified of bugs. And…” She hesitates. “I’m not really the outdoorsy type.”

I step closer and wrap my hands around her fingers that are still clinging to the can of Off! like it’s a cross, warding away vampires. “Stay close, I’ll keep you safe,” I say, slowly lifting the can free from her grip.

She no longer smells of citrus, but like she bathed in DEET. She may repel every six- and eight-legged critter in a hundred-mile radius, but I’m more attracted to her than ever. Off!, bug repellant and aphrodisiac. I know it’s too soon to kiss her, but damn if I don’t want to.

She lets out a breath. “Lucky for me.”
“Mind if I use this?” I hold up the can between us.
I don’t take my eyes off her, while I give my arms and legs a quick spray. “Glad you saved me some.” I wink and stuff the
can back in my bag.

“Oh, I bet you have another can in there somewhere, Boy Scout.”
She isn’t wrong, I do have more, but I can’t help but tease her.
“Boy Scout? Try Marine.”
“You’re a Marine and a cop?”
“Yes, ma’am.”

#Review Romans Having Sex Again by Nikki Ashton

Today I have a review of Romans Having Sex again an adult rom com by author Nikki Ashton. Thank you to Bunny Author Services for an e-arc for review. Check out my 3 star review below.

Blurb

Summer James has suffered a devastating change to her life, one that could shape her future and to make matters worse she now has a new boss. Not such a major problem, some would think, but that boss is Roman Hepburn. He's rude, grouchy and impatient and has a damn fine ass!

Very quickly her feelings for the dark, brooding, Roman change and it soon becomes evident that some highly charged sexual tension has been bubbling under the surface, and Roman makes it clear that he intends to make Summer his.

Will Roman succeed in getting the girl, and if he does will he succeed in keeping the girl? Or will circumstances and Roman's hilariously strange, but loveable family, send Summer tottering to the hills on her six inch heels?

This is a sexy, fun romance with some laugh out loud moments. Full of quirky characters, broody men and feisty women you won't be disappointed.

5 thought on Romans Having Sex Again

*I enjoyed the setting , it was in the UK and most often contemporary romance books I read are set in the US. I also loved that it was two "normal" people falling in love, not a billionaire or a prince.

*Thoughts on some characters- Roman are main love interest is one of those hot moody guys but is really sweet underneath. He has a past but a realistic one, he's no fifty shades, he is just a normal guy which I loved. Summer our leading lady did annoy me at times she moaned a bit but I did like her in the end. Some side characters I loved was Roman's mum Twinkle, both her and her husband brought so many laugh out loud moments to the story.

*The characters in this book do have sex but what I loved for a change is you don't get every detail, you get the lead up to the sex, a bit of foreplay then the rest is left up to your imagination.

*The plot of the story was good, you had the relationship of Summer and Roman, wondering will they or won't they get together. Roman is a business owner and his company is having troubles and there seems to be sabotage which was a good back story to the romance.

*The only bit I really struggled with was the writing at times. Now I received a e-arc so of course there may be a few spelling mistakes but I just felt the structure felt a bit off at times and a bit jumbled up especially the last few chapters, I got a little confused. However I did enjoy the book once I got used to the writing.

Overall Romans Having Sex Again is a quick, fun, flirty rom-com that I did like. I will be checking out more of Nikki Ashton's books.

Have you read Roman's Having Sex Again? Do you think it's something that interests you?

#Review The Wright Brother by K.A. Linde

Today I have a review of The Wright Brother by K.A Linde. Thank you to Inkslinger Pr for a e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Blurb

I'd dated his brother.
He didn’t remember and I wish I could forget.
I may have sworn off the Wright family a long time ago. But when I returned home, Jensen Wright crashed into my life with the confidence of a billionaire CEO and the sex appeal of a god. Even I couldn’t resist our charged chemistry, or the way he fit into my life like a missing puzzle piece.
Too bad he’d forgotten the one thing that could destroy us.
Because Jensen Wright doesn’t share. Not with anyone. And if his brother finds out, this could all go down in flames.
When it all was said and done, was he the Wright brother?

The Wright Brother is the first book in a contemporary romance series by K.A. Linde however it can be read as a standalone. Here is four thoughts on The Wright Brother;

*The leading lady and me had a bumpy relationship. We had a mixed relationship but in the end she grow on me. The book is told in two POV between Emery and our leading man Jensen and I definitely liked reading from his perspective more.

*I really liked some of the side characters especially Emery's best friend and all the Wright siblings and I can't wait to here their stories in future books.

*I enjoyed the story line and learning all about the Wrights and both Emery and Jensen's pasts. I enjoyed the will they won't they and the miscommunication to a point, it did get a little annoying sometimes.

*The pacing of the book was good even though it did slow a little in the middle for me but I did enjoy K.A. Linde's writing style.

Overall this was a good read, it not anything I haven't read before but I do really want to read the next books in the series as the next book is about a Wright brother I am really interested in.

Some Of My Favorite Book Covers {Let's Judge A Book By It's Cover}

I love me a beautiful book cover. So what better thing to do than to share some of my favorite covers.

Now I definitely do judge a book by a cover, I know its wrong but we all do it. Here is some of my favorite covers

A little in love by Susan E Flecter - I adore this cover as well as the book. I never usually like people on covers but I love this one. I call this book my hidden gem, you can read my review here

A Game Of Thrones by George R R Martin - I own a copy of this like everyone else and like alot of people I haven't read it. I adore the edition I have. I just love grey colors in books and this just looks so atmospheric.

When We Collided by Emery Lord - This cover, just look at it. I love bright covers and this is just so pretty. When We Collided was my favorite YA read of 2016 but for some reason I don't have a review of it. I know total blogger fail. I do want to re read this to write a review hopefully this year.

Anna And The French Kiss Trilogy by Stephanie Perkins - I love these covers! They are so simple and colourful and a far cry from the original Anna cover, lets not talk about that. I also adore this trilogy its just a fun fluffy romance. Check out my review of the trilogy here

Harry Potter by JK Rowling- I love the new UK paperback covers of Harry Potter! They are such beautiful covers and each piece of cover art represents that book perfectly.

The Paris Secret by Karen Swan - This was a pure cover buy. I just love the picture and the colour. I haven't picked up this book yet but I want to soon.

Lyrebird by Cecelia Ahern - I went to a signing for this book back in December which you can check out here . I still haven't read this book but the cover is just stunning and I don't think this photo even does it justice. It also feels really nice.

The Winners Curse by Marie Rutkoski - This cover is just so beautiful. I don't usually like the covers with girls in big dresses on but I love this one. I just love the colour of the dress. I also really enjoyed this book even though I haven't read the rest of the trilogy. You can check out my review here

Alice in zombieland by Gena Showalter - These covers just go so well together. And I think its cause they match so well that I love them. I don't know if I would like them individually but as a group their stunning. This is another series I really need to read as I own three of them, so come on.

The Memory Book by Lara Avery - Come on just look. This cover gives me so many feels!! I love the colour and the picture and its just, STUNNING! I really want to read this so bad. Also this is the US edition, I didn't like the UK edition.

So what is some of your fave covers?

February Wrap Up 2017

Another month gone! I can't believe we are already in March. As always the year is flying in. This month was an OK reading month. Compared to my January Wrap up where I read 11 books this month I only read 4 books, well nearly five I have about 10% of a book to go that I could have read in February but I kinda gave up. But I will finish it in few days.

I had a bit of a slump this month for a few reasons, firstly a book put me in a slump because I loved it so much and it was the first in a trilogy and I needed the next one and nothing else would do. Secondly I felt like I have been reading too many New Adult and Adult contemporary romance books over the last while and they where all starting to merge. And thirdly I kinda got the writing bug and reading got behind. After all that this get to the books I read in February!

* Hope (less) - Judgment of six #1 by Melissa Haag (3.5*) - I needed  little bit of a PNR in my life after so many contemporary romances and I found it in Hope (less).

*The Iron King (The Iron Fey #1) by Julie Kawaga (3.5*) - I have had this on my book shelf for years and just got the urge to pick it up and I really surprised myself with enjoying it as fantasy is a genre I struggle with, especially ones with Fey.

All reviews for the books above will be up on my blog this month.

I still haven't found my 5 star book this year but hopefully this month will be the month.

I also had a good blogging month again not as good as January but a good one none the less. Here is the posts encase you missed them:

How was your month?

When Kenneth is away, Brandon fills all my dangerous desires, even though we haven’t so much as kissed.
I'm torn between doing the right thing, and following my heart.
If I make one wrong choice, I risk losing it all.
