Book Blitz: Malachi and I by J.J McAvoy #Giveaway

Today I have a book blitz for Malachi and I, a contemporary mystical romance. Check out the excerpt and giveaway below.

Malachi and I by J.J. McAvoy
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

A Contemporary Mystical Romance
What if I told you the greatest love stories ever told—Cleopatra and Mark Antony, Salim and Anarkali, Romeo and Juliet and so many more—are far greater tragedies than anyone has ever realized?
What if I told you that you haven’t been reading a new story… just a new chapter in one epic saga?
If I told you…all of those lovers…were actually the same two souls seeking their happily ever after over and over again, would you believe me?
Would you believe them?
Born again,
Love again,
Part again,
Was their curse.
In this modern era, will they find eternal love or will they be doomed to repeat the cycle forever?

            I hate apples.
I hate them for no other reason than the symbolism they invoked. Throughout literature, apples have taken on the symbol of sin, the forbidden fruit, the start of chaos, the undoing of man. The most famous stories are that of Adam and Eve, a single apple caused them paradise and peace.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs—an apple laced with poison that caused Snow White to fall into a coma until a random man awakened her with a kiss. A happy ending, unless you knew that Snow White was Margarete von Waldeck, a sixteenth-century German countess who was banished to Brussels by her step-mother. The poison came from the King of Spain, the father of her prince, and yes, with a damn apple. But she didn’t fall sleep, she died.
Then in Greek Mythology, at the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, Eris, the Greek goddess of strife and discord, who understandably was not invited to the wedding but lacked the rational capacity to figure out why, decided to throw a golden apple onto the table at the feast to the most fairest one of all. One apple, dozens of vain goddesses, and just like that a wedding was destroyed and a war began.
If I could take every bloody apple and shoot them to the moon, I would. Maybe if I’d thought about earlier then I wouldn’t have been in my current situation—I wouldn’t have been covered in smoke, sweat, and blood. I wouldn’t have tried to save the old woman from her burning car. Burning because a chain reaction of events that began with the younger woman who was crossing the crosswalk in front of my car, and the impatient fool who ran out of the store. As he barreled into her and knocked her over her bag fell and sent a slew of apples rolling into the street. Apples her daughter then broke free of her grasp to chase after which caused the oncoming pick-up truck to swerve left and straight into the old woman’s car as she was pulling out of her parking space at Spencer’s Grocery Store.
The sight and sound of the accident startled the teen driver who was pulling up behind me, causing him to step on the accelerator instead of the brakes. As his car slammed into mine, my head snapped forward and smashed into the steering wheel as my seatbelt dug its way into my shoulder.
“Dude are you okay?!” The teen moron, screamed as he rushed from his car to mine.
            “Oh my god!”
            “It’s on fire!”
Even though my vision was blurred I saw the car—a silver BMW—and the bloodied woman who lay unconscious inside of it, and without thinking I pulled off my seatbelt and ran towards the car. I felt nothing as I yanked on the door repeatedly while the smoke rose into my face. Even when she was in my arms and I was dragging her from the car I felt nothing. Nothing, until I looked around screaming for help, only to see, the now bruised and chipped and deformed but no longer rolling…a bunch of fucking apples.

Book Blitz: I Stole His Car by Jessica Frances #Excerpt & #Giveaway

Today I have an blitz post for I Stole His Car by Jessica Frances. Check out the synopsis below then enter the giveaway!

I Stole His Car

by Jessica Frances
(Love at First Crime, #1)
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense

She stole his car, so he stole her heart…
I saw something I never should have seen.

I took something they wanted back.
I was desperate.

So, I did something I never would have normally done.
I stole a car.
Not just any car.
His car.

Now I have no choice but to trust him.
Only he can help me get out of this mess.
Then, when we both become hunted,
And when feelings begin to complicate things,
Can I still count on his protection?
Can I trust what is happening between us to be real?
Because, as some people say: there is nothing quite like love at first … crime.

Then Zander’s gaze turns back to me, and I don’t feel so warm and fuzzy toward him anymore. Instead, I feel as though I’m facing a judge and ready to hear the verdict on just how many years I’m about to be thrown in jail.
“You stole my car,” he growls.
“Yes.” No point denying it.
“You kidnapped my twelve-year-old brother.”
“Technically, yes. However, I wasn’t aware he was in the car at the time,” I pathetically try to defend my actions.
“You came back, though, even after I told you I was calling the police.” His stance is stern, but I see the same expression of curiosity that I saw earlier in Van.
“Yes.” I glance around again, waiting to see the flashing lights of a police car approaching in the distance. Instead, I see a lone officer in uniform approaching us.
I don’t recognize him as one of Brian’s friends, but that doesn’t mean he won’t hand me over to him.
I barely even got to enjoy my freedom away from Brian. Well, it technically wasn’t freedom since I was chased the entire time.
Why can’t I just catch a break?
I can’t stop myself from stepping away from the young officer, my body back to being tense and shaky. I hate that this feels normal to me now. It never used to be. Now it feels strange to feel relaxed.
“What’s wrong?” Van asks me, his concern sweet.
“Excuse me, but did I just hear you accuse this woman of stealing your car?” the officer asks, swinging his hand to rest on his side arm in what looks like a reflex.
Silence falls over us. Van looks as panicked as I feel. I can’t read Zander’s face, but he hasn’t confirmed the man’s words. That gives me a small amount of hope. Maybe he is the most forgiving man in the world.

Blog Tour: The Perfect Gentleman by Delaney Foster #Review & #Giveaway

Today I have a review of The Perfect Gentleman by Delaney Foster along with a giveaway. The Perfect Gentleman is available now.

For Nathan Alexander it's not an option. It's a way of life.
As an attorney he defends the defenseless. But when the suit comes off and the gloves go on, his passion is teaching others how to defend themselves.

His life was purposefully methodical. Completely under control. Just the way he likes it.

Until Emma McClain walks in his gym. Battered. Broken. And utterly breathtaking.

After his last relationship, Alex swore he'd never give another woman the power to hurt him. But with her unforgettable smile and killer legs, Emma has him fighting for control.

Little does he know she is fighting for her life.

Will he be able to save her before it's too late? Or will an unexpected revelation cost them both the ultimate price?

The Perfect Gentleman is a adult contemporary that am putting a trigger warning on for domestic violence, including physical and mental/emotional.

Emma is a woman who has been torn down and isolated from her family and friends, she puts on a front and blames herself for the way her boyfriend Bastion is. She feels like she caused him to be depressed and sad and she has to fix him.

Then there's Alex who is nursing a broken heart. Emma spots Alex and Alex spots Emma and the story kicks of.

Delaney Foster did a good job of being in Emma's mind and the way she was feeling and it brought to the fore front how Bastion was manipulating her in such a way that she doubted herself, thinking is he or isnt he being abusive.

The first 50 per cent has you feel like you where walking on your toes with Emma anticipating whats going to happen and I really enjoyed seeing in Emma mind.

Now Emma likes Alex and VS Versus and you see Emma is not really a meek, woman whens she with him, Bastion hasn't totally crushed her. I have mixed feelings with the romantic side of The Perfect Gentleman in some ways I get it, but I just wanted more.

The story was fast paced and told in duel POV and I liked both perspectives. As I said I really liked being in Emmas mind. Alex on the other hand I liked but he just felt vanilla to me he was nice and kind but I just wanted theres that word again, more.

Overall I read The perfect Gentleman really quickly and I did enjoy it, and at times couldnt put it down. It feels like a one sit read. Overall I gave The Perfect Gentlemen 3.25 stars

About the Author:

Delaney Foster is a Louisiana native, not far from New Orleans, where eating, drinking, and dancing are pretty much a requirement for citizenship. She loves all things romance, a good glass of wine, and Saturdays at the baseball park. She definitely believes leggings are pants and is a bit of a book whore. It all started with Jane Austen and her Darcy and has evolved to the likes of Ella Frank, Mia Sheridan, and Colleen Hoover. Just to name a few. In her love stories you will find sexy, alpha males and the strong woman Deto love them.

Book Blitz: Five by J.A. Huss #Giveaway

Today I have a blitz for you for Five by J.A Huss. Check out the book below and The giveaway at the end!

J.A. Huss
(Mister 0.5)
Publication date: September 19th 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Five Aston has known Rory Shrike for as long as he canremember. He played with her in the sandbox. He went to every damn horse show just to be supportive. He helped her with her French, walked her home from school, and faked his test scores just to stay with her a little longer and not be sent off to college early.
But eventually he had to move on.
And so did she.
Never has a second chance meant so much to a boy who loves a girl.

A standalone book that is also a spin-off of the Rook & Ronin Series and prequel to the Mister Series. You can read it first, you can read it last. It doesn’t really matter because it’s f*cking Five.

“You want a kiss?”
“Mmmhmm,” I say, closing my eyes as I picture it. God, I’ve dreamed of this moment for ages. “I really need one, Five.”
His mouth touches my earlobe. Lips caress the soft skin of my neck. “Like this?” he asks.
“Yes,” I practically moan. “Just… like… that.”
“Do you want more, Princess?” he asks, his voice low now. Growly. Filled with so much promise.
“More, please,” I say, in my sweetest princess voice.
“Then promise me, baby. Just say those two words. ‘I promise.’ And as soon as youdo that, I’ll give you everything you want. OK?”
“Five,” I moan. “Just—”
His hands come up suddenly. He cups my face, stares into my eyes with the most sincere expression I’ve ever seen on him. And underneath that sincerity, I see… fear. “Promise me.”
“Five,” I say, unable to stop staring back. This is everything. Everything I’ve always dreamed of. Five pressing me up against a wall. Me, the only thing on his mind. Except I’m not the only thing on his mind, am I? No. Those creeps from the past are back. That’s why he’s here. And even though I’d normally not give in so easy, I know this is not a game. So I say, “I promise. Now stop talking, you stupid genius, and kiss me already.”
He smiles. Leans in. I close my eyes, ready for it. Finally gonna get what I want.
But then he moves his mouth to my ear and nibbles on my lobe. “Good girl,” he coos. “But I’m not sure I believe you, Princess. I can feel those wheels turning inside your head. They’re grinding hard.” He presses his hard cock against my hip when he says that last part. “So I’m gonna hold off on that kiss until I get back tonight. And if you’ve been good, and if you’ve held up your end of the—”
“What?” I say, pushing him back. “You will do no such thing, Five Aston! I want a fucking kiss and I want one right now! I’ve waited six years for this, and denying me is practically emotional abuse. Now stop fucking around and kiss me, goddammit!”
“Who’s the boss of you, Rory?”
I huff out some air. “Me.”
He smiles. It’s a big, genuine, I’m-gonna-teach-you-who’s-boss smile. “Wrong answer.”

Blog Tour: Barking Up The Wrong Tree by Juliette Poe #Review

Today I have a review of Barking Up The Wrong Tree a sweet southern adult contemporary romance. I loved the second book in the series when I read it back in July, you can check out my review here and the third book didn't disappoint.

Things in Whynot, NC have gone to the dogs, and that’s just the way the town’s only veterinarian, Laken Mancinkus, likes it. No matter if she’s up when the rooster crows, or working until the cows come home, Laken never leaves an animal in need. So when a gorgeous Yankee comes begging for help herding some wily goats, Laken is up to the task.

Jake McDaniel is looking for a tax break, and what better way than to take up…farming? This ex-football player turned businessman turned unwitting goat farmer is up to his knees in goat drama. Runaway goats, dehydrated goats, and a baby goat that wants no one other than him, Jake needs more help than he cares to admit. Good thing the sexy veterinarian is right there to coach him on how to be a farmer. The only problem is, Laken’s not looking for anything more than a good time, while Jake is looking for his forever girl.

Will the baby goat, and Laken, be enough to get Jake to stay? Or will he take his tax break and hoof it back to Chicago? One thing is for certain…what happens on the farm doesn’t always stay on the farm.

Barking Up The Wrong Tree is the third book in the sex and sweet tea series by Juliette Poe. (Each book can be read as a standlone) And I am really enjoying the books in this series. They are sweet southern romances that will make you swoon and I love them. Each book is about a different Manchkis sibling and this one was all about Laken.

Laken is a vet in the town of Whynot and she is such a fun character, who doesn't have a care about casually hooking up with men. Step in Jake McDaniel and her heads in a spin.

Barking Up The Tree has little bits of everything that made up the perfect package in a story. It has funny moments, sweet moments, romantic moments, and serious moments. I really enjoyed the two characters interactions, I just think both characters are very real and that made me connect with them immediately. The series is called the sex and sweet tea series because it is that. It is sweet with just the right amount of sexy thrown in.

The story is told in a few POV's a couple from Pap Lakens pap and then Laken and Jake. But there is also a few short chapters told by Herman who is a fricking dog. It was just so cute!!! I swear the animals are cuter in this than Jake. Theres even the cutest goat around!

Overall I really like this series, it just has everything for a perfect read. I highly recommend this series giving Barking Up The Wrong Tree, 3.75 Stars

Thank you to InkSlinger PR for an e arc in exchange for an honest review.
