Last week I put up my review of The 5th Wave (you can check out the review above) and I wrote it in a different style to my usual reviews, telling you my thoughts and emotions while reading it. I am going to do the same in my review below of The Infinite Sea, I hope you enjoy!

My thoughts and emotions while reading The Infinite Sea

"Holy shit! The opener is intense and shocking!"

"I am loving Ringer."

"OMG, what the hell are you doing, teacup?"

"Oh thank God, Evan!!!"

"Who the hell is Grace? I'm not sure about her."

"Sam, Cassie, Evan, Ben, holy crap, no one die!!"

"Awh pancake. :("

"Holy shit, Evan!" (I said Holy shit a lot throughout The Infinite Sea)

"What the hell just happened? Where the hell did she come from? I remember her, I knew she would appear again."

"Breathe...these aliens are sick. Those poor children, my nerves are on edge."

"I swear this girl is unhinged."

"What?!?"

"OMG, thank God."

"Seriously, how many times are you going to give me a heart attack, Mr Yancey."

"Oh God, Poundcake. Noooooo. *Cries so much*

"Oh shit we are back with Crazy Ass alien commander."

"Ringer :("

"OMG..Alien tech, isn't a good sign."

"Razor..I heart."

"Go Ringer, you kick ass heroine."

"Are you kidding me. How do you make me trust these characters and then pull there trust out from under me."

"Seriously.. my head is melted."

"My heart, I can't stop crying, I heart Ringer so much."

"And breathe...."

The Infinite Sea was so intense and brilliant. The writing was fantastic and the way the storyline is all coming together is amazing. This book didn't suffer middle book syndrome (we all know the second book in a series isn't always as good as the first and last books). I rated this higher than the first. This book is all about Ringer and I fricking loved it. I am so excited for the conclusion of this trilogy, The Last Star. Bring it on!

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're excitably anticipating.

The Stars Never Rise (#1) by Rachel Vincent

From RACHEL VINCENT, "New York Times" bestselling author, comes the first book in a new series about a girl who must join forces with rogue exorcists to save her sister and, ultimately, humanity. Sixteen-year-old Nina Kane should be worrying about her immortal soul, but she's too busy trying to actually survive. Her town's population has been decimated by soul-consuming demons, and souls are in short supply. Watching over her younger sister, Mellie, and scraping together food and money are all that matters. The two of them are a family. They gave up on their deadbeat mom a long time ago. When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their very existence, she'll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal Church and its army of black-robed exorcists. And Mellie's sin has put her in serious trouble. To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a fugitive with deep green eyes who has already saved her life once and who might just be an exorcist. But what kind of exorcist wears a hoodie? Wanted by the Church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she can't survive on her own. She needs Finn and his group of rogue friends just as much as they need her.

Book Tour: Dragons are people, too [#Promo] & #Giveaway

Dragons Are People, Too
by Sarah Nicolas
Release Date: 04/28/15
Entangled Teen

Summary from Goodreads:

Never judge a dragon by her human cover...

Sixteen-year-old Kitty Lung has everyone convinced she’s a normal teen—not a secret government operative, not the one charged with protecting the president’s son, and certainly not a were-dragon. The only one she trusts with the truth is her best friend—and secret crush—the über-hot Bulisani Mathe.

Then a junior operative breaks Rule Number One by changing into his dragon form in public—on Kitty’s watch—and suddenly, the world knows. About dragons. About the Draconic Intelligence Command (DIC) Kitty works for. About Kitty herself.

Now the government is hunting down and incarcerating dragons to stop a public panic, and a new shape-shifting enemy has kidnapped the president’s son. Kitty and Bulisani are the last free dragons, wanted by both their allies and their enemies. If they can’t rescue the president’s son and liberate their fellow dragons before getting caught themselves, dragons might never live free again.

I have a little excerpt for you. In this scene, Kitty has just realized there’s something a little off with the girl who just rode off with the President’s son, Jacob.

"This is Draco Three. Probable threat."
"What -" Sani begins. I cut him off with a glare and, within half of a heartbeat, a confused realization dawns on his face.
"In Midday Sun's car. Now." I don't say much, but it's enough for my contact, whose name I don't actually know.

He pauses for maybe three seconds. It feels like an eternity. "Communication with the agents in the car is down. Can you pursue on foot?"
I start running at the word "down" and I'm already halfway down the driveway with Sani at my side when I say, "Pursuing."
"Secure Midday Sun," my contact orders. "At all costs."

"Understood." I don't bother hanging up before dropping both the phone and my backpack on the grass. Sani has already shed his pack.
The car is gaining speed on the main road, but traffic is keeping it from escaping completely. I can run about twenty miles an hour for several miles. Sani is faster. He's holding back to stay with me.
"Go!" I yell.

I know he wants to argue, but I'm not his friend right now. I'm his superior. To his credit, he doesn't hesitate longer than the time it takes for a single step. His stride lengthens. It's a matter of seconds before he's halfway between me and the car.
The front half of the black town car explodes in a fireball. My lungs are working overtime and I gulp in the acrid scent of burning rubber and gasoline. Tires all around us squeal as brakes are slammed. Somewhere to my left, a roaring crunch echoes the explosion, as two more cars collide in a less explosive way.
Dominic pops out of the sun roof, somehow looking confused and focused at the same time. He has his side-arm in his right hand and I dare to hope the Secret Service has control of the situation. But, somewhere inside me, I know better.
Dominic raises his gun and takes aim at Sani, who's fifty feet from the car. He fires four shots.

I let loose a primal roar as a bullet rips through Sani's left bicep. His shoulder jerks back at the impact, but his steps don't even falter.

Review

The Story...

I really enjoyed What Remains. I didn't really know what I was expecting but the journey the characters went on was fantastic and I wanted more of their story, which is a good sign of a great book.

The story is centred around a young guy who get's a heart transplant, something I haven't read before and the effects it has on the recipient. But I found the concept really interesting and it really felt like the author had researched it really well. But this story is also about true friendship and Grief. I loved the friendship between, Lizzie, Spencer and Cal. I really wanted more of their friendship prior to the events that happen in the book. The Story is a realistic contemporary and it deals with issues that are very real and the topics the author covered where done very well. Overall the story was fantastic.

The Characters...

I have to applaud Helene Dunbar on making me love a story told from a male POV. I have this problem where I can never relate to male protagonists and hate reading them. However in What Remains the story is told from Cal's POV and I really loved it. I loved Cal, he is a bit like me where everything needs to be planned and he doesn't like Surprises. The whole ordeal with having to have a heart transplant and the reason behind it and the donar behind the heart is all very emotional. And I went on that journey with Cal.

Spencer is just fantastic, he is the one with common sense in the group, the listener and I really loved him.

Lizze broke my heart so much, I really felt for her. She is quirky and tough but has no fight in her for her future, she is resigned to it and it just made me so sad as I understood her reasoning's.

Overall I really rate this book. It's got great characters who I fricking fell in love with , a story that is realistic, and it takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion's. You will be smile, laugh and cry but I think that what makes a great story.

Sunday Post #14 -The beautiful Peter Pan Edition

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post was created by Caffeniated Book Reviewerthis is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the week previous and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review!

Yesterday I would have only had a few books to show you. However my sister and I went on a shopping trip yesterday and I ended up getting 7 books (Oops) but a lot of them I got really cheap. One I am really excited about I am going to show you now. It's a hardback editon of Peter Pan.

Anyone who knows me knows I love Peter Pan. But I didn't have a nice edition for my shelf so I picked this up in Waterstones for £16.99. It's so pretty and after 7 hours of shopping it was worth it to find this beauty.

Some random things...

I realized that the last few books I have read have been published by Headline, a UK Publisher and my favourite book series ever is published by them. In conclusion I think this publisher is pretty awesome.

A new band I have discovered that are so good is  a band called ,Oh Honey they're  more a a duo than a band.  I don't know much about them but their music is good. They are on Fueled by Ramen's record label. I love this label, it has Panic at the disco, Paramore, Twenty One Pilot's and loads more on its label.

This week I read and reviewed .....

This week I read three books and I am half way though a fourth, which may not sound like a lot but it's a lot for me as at the most I usually read if am lucky is two books.  I read the sequel to The 5th Wave, The Infinite Sea and I loved it so much. I put my review of The 5th Wave up this week and wrote it in a different style, you can check it out here. I also read An Island of Our Own by Sally Nicholls and What Remains by Helene Dubar. All three reviews will be up this week.

This week on the blog I also put up my review of Guilty Pleasures (The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series #1) by Laurell K Hamilton. This is a adult vampire/horror and I really liked it. #UKYA Spotlight The Grindle Witch by Benjamin J Myers & #Giveaway

My blog is mainly a YA blog. I predominantly read YA but what I have come to realise is I don't read a lot of UK YA authors and I feel bad about it. I am from the UK and I think I should be supporting authors from my country. So over the next few months I will be highlighting a UK YA author every Friday.

I am going to put a twist on my UKYA feature as I am also going to highlight Irish YA authors. I live in Northern Ireland, part of the UK but I live on the Island of Ireland so I thought I would extend the spotlight to Ireland as well.

Last weeks author was Catherine Doyle author of Vendetta, you can still enter to win a paperback of Vendetta here (OPEN WORLD WIDE)

This weeks author is Benjamin J Myers author of the recently released Grindle Witch. I think it sounds creepily good. It is my next book on my TRL.

When Jack Jolly moves from the city to the tiny Northern village of Grindle, he thinks his life's just become a lot more boring. But then he finds himself plunged into the middle of a terrifying mystery, and confronting an ancient evil - the Grindle Witch.

But when Jack and his new friends, Paddy and Leila, take drastic measures to stop the Grindle Witch, they realise that they may have unleashed more than they bargained for.

A creepy supernatural tale that will have readers on the edge of their seats.

Thanks to Orion Publishing you can win a copy of The Grindle Witch. Giveaway is sponsored by Orion and is open to UK & Ireland residents.
