Haven't been feeling blogging this week....

This week I haven't been feeling blogging as much. When daily life is done and I have time to blog. I just want to read. The main reason this week is that I finally picked up The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead after wanting to read it for years and I am loving it so much. BUT with being out of the blogging loop this week,  I have missed interacting with other book people and checking out their posts so this week I am definitely going to get more involved in the blogosphere. I am going to get posts ready this weekend for the next two weeks so then I will have more time to interact online and read at the same time as I suspect I will move onto the bloodline series after I finish this series.

 And I have some great posts...

I have lots of reviews to put up half of which are new releases I have loved and others are older books I have read finally that I also loved. I also have some discussion posts to put up.  I like disscussion posts. I have quite a few ideas I would like to work on that I hope you will all like.

Now to one of my favourite parts of this post new music I have discovered. I love music it gives me all the feels. Not as much as books but it's up there.

This is a singer I love to hate. Jason Derulo really annoys me. But I really like this song against my will.

I like Ella Eyre. I love her voice this is such a fun, catchy song.

Everyone has probably seen this video by now. It's an awesome kick ass video. I like most of Taylor Swift's songs and this one I like as well.

I recently just discovered this song. I really like it.

This is an old one but I really wanted Jacob and Bella to get together in Twilight. I know her and Edward are meant to be but at the time I was so against it and wanted Jacob and Bella to get it on.

I would put Gideon from the Cross fire Series into the 50 Shades universe. Can you image the Christian and Gideon together they would end up killing each other and it would be entertaining to watch.

The last Sookie Stackhouse book. OMG I was so nervous I didn't want to read it. I did read it and was OK with the end.

“She’s exhausted,” I say. “Hasn’t slept at all tonight.”

Eli’s expression hardens as he glares at me. I’ve seen Eli throw a coma-inducing punch for less defiance and I readjust the sleeping girl in my arms. A reminder if he decks me now, he’ll be putting his daughter at risk.

Temporarily surrendering, Eli cups Emily’s face in his hands and angles her toward him. “Emily, please open your eyes.”

She does. It’s barely a crack and they’re completely glazed.

“Everything’s going to be okay,” Eli affirms.

“I want my mom and dad,” she mumbles.

“You’ll see them tomorrow.” Eli pushes a strand of hair from her cheek. “You’re safe here. I promise.”

She rejects Eli by curling into me. Her head fits perfectly in the crook of my neck and I loathe the wave of protective­ness that rumbles through my body. Emily’s fingers tighten their grip near my shoulders and the impulse is to shield her from the guys gawking at this intimate scene. Yeah, this is club business, but Emily never asked for any of this.

#nightofinfinities -A Novel Fundraising Idea! Inspired by John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars COMING this June

Fault in our stars by John Green. Who hasn't heard of it? I have to admit I am one of the few who hasn't read it but really want to. Especially after last weekend when I finally watched The Fault In Our Stars movie and LOVED it so so much. I used two packs of tissues watching it. It is so beautifully sad. I NEED to read the book NOW.

The awesome thing about this book is everyone has supported it so much. A Novel Fundraising Idea!

Inspired by John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars

Penguin has teamed up with Teenage Cancer Trust to mobilise and inspire the legions of teenage fans for John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars to help raise money for the charity.

On 26th June, with John Green’s support, the publisher is inviting all fans of the book to unite in a ‘Night of Infinities’ and organise fundraising sleepovers nationwide inspired by the book. 

The Fault in Our Stars was the UK’s biggest selling novel of 2014 with sales to date exceeding a million copies in the UK alone. The book which tells the story of Hazel and Gus, two extraordinary teenagers, who first meet at a cancer support group has resonated with readers of all ages. 

Penguin and Teenage Cancer Trust hope that the younger end of the novel’s fan base will be inspired to help raise money to support the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer aged between 13 and 24.

John Green comments: "I worked as a student chaplain at a children's hospital about 15 years ago for five months. During that time I started wanting to write about the young people I had met there… It just took a long while for that book to become The Fault in Our Stars. From that experience, I understand the importance of charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust and the work they do in bringing young people together and helping them get the best possible care in the best possible environment. I would be delighted if fans of my book were able to translate that into tangible support for the charity.”

Charli XCX, whose song Boom Clap was released as the first single from the soundtrack album of The Fault in Our Stars film and achieved worldwide chart success, is also supporting this initiative:“It is incredible how passionately people have responded to the book and the film. I really hope that enthusiasm drives as many people as possible to organise a sleepover and have fun while raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust which does so much for the many young people with cancer like Hazel and Gus in the UK.”

A ‘Night of Infinities’ event pack is now available to download from www.nightofinfinities.co.uk. The pack gives you all the information you need to organise your own sleepover whilst raising money at the Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/nightofinfinities. It also includes a personal thank you letter from John for taking part, tips on how to organise your sleepover (plus advice on staying safe), real-life stories from young cancer patients and lots of fundraising ideas including: making and selling Okay Cake, sponsored Karaoke of songs from the film’s soundtrack as well as nominating friends and family to take facepack selfies.

On the night itself, there will also be live online moments which will connect all the sleepovers nationwide using social media and including a dedicated radio show on W!ZARD Radio Station, the UK’s Most Popular Online Teen Radio Station set up by teen entrepreneur James Gilmore.

The Enchanted Rose was a quick fun read. I read it in a few hours. It had the feeling of a possible retelling but it's not, it's quite hard to example unless you have read it. I no am being very vague (Little Red Riding Hood came to mind a lot) 

The Story was interesting and I was intrigued by a lot of the characters. There where so many twists and turns and it kept me turning the pages. The Story seemed to end abruptly but it makes you excited for the next book.

Apart from a few grammer errors the book was written well and was written in an engaging and exciting tone. Overall I really liked this book and look forward to the next book in the series.

A decision that I don’t even think they would have the strength to make on my behalf. I turn my eyes to Dr. Bob, who is still sitting on the edge of my bed waiting for my decision. It takes me a few seconds to realize that I hold the keys to my life in what I’m about to say. As I open my lips the tears finally begin to flow. I utter quietly as I wipe away my tears, “I want to do the trial. Where do I sign?”

Avelyn Paige is a born and raised Indiana girl. She may be a Hoosier by birth, but she’s a Boilermaker by choice! Avelyn lives in rural Indiana with her pastor husband, 2 spoiled cats, and one very odd looking dog.  She’s an oncology research scientist by day and a writer and book review blogger by night. Interview with author Becky Wicks

Tell me a little about yourself and your writing career so far.

Well, I had a crappy Christmas poem published in my local paper when I was about ten, and won first prize in my local creating writing competition two years running after that! I think I wrote about owls!! I guess I’ve always known I’ve wanted to be a writer because I’ve always just written. Anything and everything. I started a blog very early on, when blogs were new, and I wrote for mags and websites all over the world (I’ve lived and worked in Dubai, NYC, London, Sydney and Bali!) I was lucky enough to get a 3-book deal with HarperCollins when I was 29. I just love writing, it’s a part of me I guess. I go kind of crazy when I don’t do it!

Tell us a little about The Day Of The Wave and the creation behind the book.

It all started when I was in Sri Lanka last November (2014). I kept meeting locals who all had stories about the tsunami and how it ripped through their homes and washed their tuk-tuks away - many were still struggling to make ends meet because of it over ten years later. It was heartbreaking. I had so many nightmares there about tsunamis striking the house I was staying in, and one night the story about Ben and Isla surviving and finding each other against all odds just came to me. I knew I had to write it down and I didn’t stop once I’d started. It took me five weeks to get it all down!

 Can you describe Isla and Ben in 140 characters or less.

Ben: Running away from himself, love and life. Guilty but good-hearted. Constantly searching but secretly scared of what he’ll find.

Isla: Living in a bubble, under someone’s thumb, stronger than she realises and evolving day-by-day with new confidence and brand new hope.

If you book was turned into a TV show/film who would you like to play Ben and Isla?

Ooooh, you know the show Beauty and the Beast? I kind of picture Vincent and Catherine in the roles somehow, I think they’d be perfect! The guy who plays Vincent - Jay Ryan is just brooding enough, and definitely sexy enough, and Catherine, aka Kristin Kreuk would be a vulnerable yet super strong Isla. They would kick ass in these roles. Let’s make this happen :-)

Why should we pick up The Day Of The Wave?

As far as I know there hasn’t been a fictional romance written about the Boxing Day tsunami yet, and I hope that all my research has meant I’ve stayed true to what happened and perhaps what some of the survivors must have gone through at the same time as creating a compelling story. It took a lot of research to make sure I could do it justice and I hope I’ve succeeded! That’s up to the readers I guess!

One of the best parts of books is discovering the cray cray villains and the reasons behind what makes them decide to walk the path of evil instead of good. What makes villains even more intriguing is that villains often aren’t just straight evil. Their reasons scarily make sense sometimes and a reader can find themselves nodding along, cheering the villain on despite how wrong their actions can be. 

That’s why I love the villains listed below. They are complex, driven, determined, arrogant, broken messes. They are cunning and clever. Even with their powerful gifts, they still long for something—whether it be love or acceptance or understanding or family—and that longing, that lonliness they feel is what helps readers not only connect to them and even relate to them on certain levels, but unable to put the books down until the very end.
