Sunday Post #18 Slow reading week but great music week.

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post was created by Caffeniated Book Reviewer this is a post where we recap on the going on's on the blog the week previous and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received, bought or been gifted for review!

This week has been a slow reading week...

So am still currently reading the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I'm on book 5 of 6, Spirit Bound. This week I only read one book which was the 4th book in the series and it took me forever. I flew though the first three books and each book got better and better but when I got to the 4th it got so, so slow. It felt like I was reading a totally different book but it did pick up at the end and now am on the 5th one and it is back to being so good. I am hoping to finish the series this week and also read a blog tour book so hopefully next week will be better, book wise.

What was on the blog this week?

I had some great posts this week, which I hope you will have time to check out. I had three reviews this week:

Undertow (Undertow #1) by Michael Buckley (One of my favourites this year)

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) by Richelle Mead (I will have a vampire academy review every week for the next six weeks as I am nearly finished all six books. Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) review will be up on Tuesday)

I also had a great discussion post up Is All YA books being turned into movies? You can check out my post here and join in the discussion.

In other news....

I am so excited for my event coming up next month. I haven't said much about it as I have been busy working behind the scenes to make it as awesome as I can. But if you are like, Megan what are you talking about. Well next month and part of August I am having a virtual road trip "visiting" each state in the US. Yeah all 50 states and at each stop I will be meeting an author or blogger. I have some amazing bloggers helping me as well as some amazing authors, including an author I never ever thought I would be able to get on my blog. There will be giveaways happening throughout and I hope everyone has fun. I have 50 posts to schedule so if I go quiet near the end of the month you know why. Thanks to my awesome sister Kerry Ann @ A Bookish Redhead for making the banner.

Now to the music I have discovered this week. I have discovered some really good music this week from different genres of music and am excited to share them with you.

I just love this song. I love Jamie Fox's voice. It's just so beautiful.

This song is just such a fun song. It's a great song to dance to, to have on when your with friends and just have fun. A great summer song.

I think this is one of my favourite songs of the year. It was a random find. I love Rachel's voice. It's such a great uplifting song, a great I am woman hear me roar song. #fightsong

A great pop song, a fun and entertaining video. I just love this video
so much and the song is so catchy.

I had to add something punk, rock-ist in. I had a muse faze a few years ago and tend to love some of there stuff and not really like some of there other stuff but I am really liking their new music.

Now to the books:

Kindle freebies- The books below where free at the time of this post. Please 're check before downloading

NA Read

Received for review

Family Magic I received for review for a blog tour. I have read this before a few years back but it's now being published by a publisher and not self pubbed. Broken I received for review VIA the author. It's a NA Contemporary Romance. (ebooks)

I received both books above from netgalley. Chaos and Moonlight I am so excited to read, it's an adult PNR and it sounds so good. It's available to buy now. Tangled Webs releases later this month VIA Disney Hyperion. It's a YA historical romance. I haven't read many YA historical romances so I thought I would give this a try.

I bought the last book in the Vampire Academy series and now my collection is complete. I won Blue Lily, Blue Lily VIA Trish @ Between My Lines, this is the third book in the raven cycle books. I haven't picked them up yet but I intend to now I have one of the books. I love that cover.

I  found this on Facebook and love it. I don't no who made it but it's awesome.

Let me know how your week was and leave me your Sunday Posts below.

  3. YAY for Vampire Academy! I read that series a long time ago, and can't remember if I also thought book four was slower than the others. It's one of my favorite series, though :)
You got some really good-looking books in your haul, too! I hope you'll enjoy them all.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

  5. It's always nice to have a series you can read all at once. And nice review of Undertow-I've seen that everywhere and every review seems to be positive, so that's intriguing. And your Ya post was fun too- it does seem like everything is being adapted now, and that can be good and bad I guess.

Looking forward to your road trip, that sounds fun!

  12. I'm reading Family Magic too! Looks good. I haven't been listening to much music lately. So bust trying to get caught up on reviews that I use tv as my background noise. LOL

  15. After reading a of ton of books it seems I'm now in the middle of a slow reading week. I just can't get myself to pick up any of my books and a few of them have to go back to the library in two days. The states tour seems like a lot of fun!

  16. I love the Vampire Academy series. I've been planning on reading it again, since it's been a while, but maybe next year I'll do a re-reading book challenge. Have you read the spin-off series, Bloodlines? If not, then you should check it out after you finish VA. It's also really good.
