Sunday Post #28- Autumn has arrived & so much internet goodness

The Sunday Post was created by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer this is a post where we recap the going on's on the blog the previous week and the week coming up as well as the awesome books we have received for review, brought or gifted.

Autumn has finally arrived in the UK and I am super happy. I didn't think I would ever wish for rain but those few days of heat we had killed me. Especially as in work, our building is glass fronted and it makes our room like a green house. I am so happy to see you Autumn.

Bookish news

There has been so much internet goodness this week that I have to talk about it all, so bear with me. First off the Shadowhunters TV Trailer. It looks amazing, and we didn't get one but two teasers. The second trailer that was released via Buzzfeed is frickin incredible. Dom Sherwood as Jace is going to be sensational. I didn't think he was going to be as good as Jamie Campbell Bower. I am just so excited for Shadowhunters. Check out the trailer here and let me know what you think.

Also in other Shadowhunter news the cover for Lady Midnight ( Dark Artifices #1) by Cassandra Clare was released at NY comic con and it is creepily, beautiful and atmospheric. I am so excited and pumped to get back into the Shadowhunter world. Hurry up March 2016. What do you all think?

In other bookish news, Twilight Re- imagined. I really don't have a big opinion on it as I haven't picked it up yet but let's just say am really intrigued. Like everyone else I would have preferred Midnight Sun which many people where thinking the bonus material was in the 10th Anniversary Edition but am still excited to have something from Stephanie Meyer. You can enter to win a copy of Twilight's 10th Anniversary Edition here

Another bit of bookish news is in an interview with Ellen Degeneres Dakota Johnson said filming of 50 Shades Darker starts filming in the New Year.

Things am loving this week:

Fall means all my shows are starting again which makes me super excited and for the first time in so long here in the UK we are only a week behind the U.S. Three shows I am pumped for.

Empire: The first episode of season two aired in the UK during the week and I was so excited to see it back. I watched all of season one back in August and fell in love with the show. As a friend said this season looks like it's going to be more darker. The music in episode one was just meh for me but it was only the first episode.

Arrow: You don't know how excited I am for this. We are only a week behind the U.S. which is incredible. I can't wait for it to start on Wednesday. Arrow is one of my favourite shows, if not the favourite and I am super pumped for it.

The Returned: I have been waiting two years for The Returned. TWO YEARS. The first series was sensational. It's a French drama with English subtitles, about dead people who return to life in this small village in France. I can't do it justice talking about it. You just have to watch it. I actually think it's based on a book but don't quote me on that.

Finally two very different videos. We have The Vamps new music video and song that I love, and then a video from a YouTuber that broke my heart. It's breast cancer awareness month here in the UK and Louise AKA Sprinkle of glitter told her story of losing her mum to breast cancer at the age of seven. The video is heartbreaking and Louise is such a strong woman. Check out the videos below.

Now for the books, and there's quite a few this week:

I received an e-ARC of Rescued by Pheobe Kitanidis for a blog tour in November, it's the first book in a New Adult romance that releases November 10th. The Devils Gate by Rue Volley is also for a blog tour in November. It's the first in an Erotica mystery romance. (Ebook)

Hot Toy by Jennifer Crusie and The twelve dates of Christmas I got on Netgalley they are adult holiday reads that sound fun. They both release this month and I am going to read them during the Ho Ho Ho read a thon in November.

This song is not for you I got on netgalley it releases January 5th. I received a paperback proof of Beautiful Broken Things from Macmillan it releases February 2016 and it says if you like All the bright places by Jennifer Niven you will love this and I loved All the bright places.

I won an ebook of Taken Chance as part of the YA Scavenger hunt. The Billionaires Heart was an amazon kindle freebie.

Sugar Kisses and The Rush where both amazon freebies.

I brought both The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4) and The Ruby Circle (Bloodlines #6) to complete my collection. I am loving this series.

I brought Username: Evie it's my first graphic novel and am excited to read it.  I received a hardback of Carry On for review and it is so beautiful. I am super excited to get to it.

Phew that was a long post. How was your week? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Maybe you can tell Autumn to come visit us, yeah? ;) Okay, so I haven't read TMI, but the show looks good. Not really sold on the main girl's acting from what I saw, but the guy is seems good.

I don't know what to make of the new Twilight book but I'll be reading it for sure :)

  3. I love autumn, too, Megan, but it hasn't gotten as gorgeous as the picture of the leaves you shared here yet :) All your new books look great, I love Bloodlines, too, and I hope you'll enjoy the new installments you've gotten.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

  4. Yay, Harry Potter book tag! :) It is the perfect post to celebrate the release of the GORGEOUS illustrated edition.

Looks like you picked up some great books this week! I do love the Bloodlines series. (Even if I still haven't finished it. I can't let go of Sydney and Adrian.) I got Carry On this week, too. I'm not sure when I'll get around to read it, but it has to be soon. I love Rainbow's writing.

Hope you have a great week!

    That's a Wrap Weekly

  6. We've had a sunny autumn so far, which is the best. It's cool, but it looks pretty outside with the sun and the yellow, orange and red leaves. I haven't read the shadowhunters books, so I don't think I'll be watching the movie either. Nice haul you got this week, I still have to read The Ruby Circle, but I really enjoyed the Bloodlines series so far. I hope you have a great week!

  10. You got so many fabulous review books this week! I don't even know where to begin so I won't even try ;) THANK YOU for the new show info. Sadly, I don't have time to watch tv b/c I'm always reading or blogging in my free time. Arrow looks like a show I'd love. The Returned looks great, too! It's probably over here on NetFlix or Amazon. I might just DVR TMI b/c I read the first book so I know the world and it looks like the show is done well.

    Here's to cooler Autumn temps!!!!

  11. When they build glass walled buildings it should require some sort of shading so the people inside do not bake. I am not enjoying fall. our leaves haven't really started to fall so I am going to end up freezing to pick them up.

  13. The leaves have started falling here too! I love the colors, but I hate the cold! I saw the Twilight Reimagined book and... I don't know. It seems a little lazy to me. But what do I know? I'm not a famous author! I hope you love all your books this week!

    Here's my Weekly Recap!

  17. We're starting to see some fall-like symptoms here but the temperature can't make up it's mind. Some days we're in the 60s and then we'll be in the 90s. Sometimes in the same day. I have no idea what to wear! I'm really curious about Arrow. I've heard great things about it but haven't started it yet. Have a great week!

  19. I am missing summer already. It is my favorite time of year. Autumn does have its perks. It is now cool enough here in Florida to begin yard cleanup and a couple of projects that it was too hot to start in the summer. Enjoy all your new reads. :-)
