I have mixed feelings about The Here and Now. The concept of the story was really intriguing and the twists, turns and how everything connected was done really well. Time Travel isn't something I tend to read but the reason for the time travelling really had me gripped, a world where disease has destroyed a lot of the inhabitants and they fled because there was nothing left to be done, the world had officially fell apart.
I liked the characters. Prenna is a strong heroine, she has a lot to deal with and the restrictions on her life is so hard on her and she tries and struggles so much. Step in Ethan, I loved him as the male protagonist he is just a perfect sweet guy.
The problem I had, was the writing. I don't know what it is that got to me but, it just didn't seem to flow right, it felt broken in some places. And I struggled with it at times, as I wanted to keep reading, I was loving the story but the writing was letting it down.
Overall I liked the concept of the story, the characters where interesting but the writing did let it down for me. The story was left open ended, and I am not sure if there is more books going to be written in this world but if not I am satisfied with the ending.
Oh, this is a book I have for review but have kind of been pushing it backwards because of the not-too-great reviews I have been seeing on it. It seems like a decent story and I love the concept of time travel although it is hard to do well in books. It's a shame the writing style interfered with the quality of the read.
