 When I was a kid I loves colouring in so I decided to get myself an "adult" colouring book and I am loving it. The pages are so beautiful.


TV Show

While I was off I decided to catch up on some TV shows I have been meaning to watch. And one show I watched was Empire. I watched the entire season and loved it. I absolutely love Jussie Smolletts voice, he is an incredible singing. Below is some of my favourite songs from the show.

Under his skin by Stacey O Neale (e-ARC VIA Entangled publishing) releases September 21st) Hello Goodbye and everything in between (paperback VIA Headline releases next week.). I am so excited for Hello Goodbye and everything in between I have started it already and its so good. Under his skin sounds like a great adult PNR.


I brought this one and am so excited for it. It's a contemporary romance of chance and first love.

 Review

 Seduce is the first book in Jennifer Synder's , New Adult PNR series, Succubus Kiss. It was a fun, entertaining read which I really enjoyed.

 I love a good PNR and this is my first New Adult one and I have to say I enjoyed it. So much so that I went in search of the next book straight away , like as soon as I finished it and there's a reason for that which I will explain later.

 In seduce we have a whole load of paranormal. We have our lead Kenna who's a Succubus however one with a conscience. She chooses her victims carefully. There's Sage her side kick vampire friend. We have Jack Dexter a werewolf who I really liked and then we have Mr sexy ancient vampire Randal who is swoon worthy. We also have a whole load of other creatures that Kenna can identity by their auras.

 So we have a whole host of great characters and an interesting and intriguing storyline of a young succubus woman with a conscience who of course finds it hard to have relationships with humans, her only options left is the paranormal. Kenna is a strong character but she did come all over damsel when Randal came into the picture which did annoy me a bit but overall she was a great lead.

 Reason for needing the next book...

 Some crazy stuff went down near the end and it was getting so exciting and then the book just stopped. I thought some of the pages where missing. We all love a cliffhanger, but this wasn't a cliff hanger it just stopped which really annoyed me.

 Other than the abrupt ending, Seduce was a good start in a series that I know I want to finish. The characters where engaging and interesting and they really lead the story. I just hope the next book doesn't end as abruptly.

Review

Capture by Rachel Van Dyken is an engrossing NA Contemporary read which can be read in one sitting.

Straight away I was intrigued by Dani our lead protagonist,  I wanted to know why she couldn't speak , I wanted to know her story. She was a character I instantly connected with and cheered on her  journey. Lincoln the love interest was a great guy. He didn't get on like he was your typical young Hollywood guy. He was sweet, caring, had morals and was just and altogether lovely guy.

The supporting characters where fun especially Zane who I predict his story will be told in the new book. Some of the characters within the book are from Rachel's other seaside series, and as this series is a spin off, of the previous series at times I did feel like I was missing out having not read their stories previously. But I only felt this a little bit and was still able to enjoy Dani and Lincoln's journey.

The story was fast paced and had me turning the pages,  however I would have liked a little more depth with Dani and her being mute ,it seemed to move too fast and at times be looked over a little but this is maybe me being too picky.

Overall I found it hard to rate this book as I did really enjoy it however there just was something missing for me to give it any higher than 3.5*. However I will continue with this series and if your looking for a fast read with a sweet romance, with fun characters you should pick up Capture.

Review of Vampire Academy

First up for term one would be Twilight, a staple of any YA PNR syllabus, it is the book that many have quoted as the book that got them into the PNR genre. The writing isn't fantastic but the story is one that draws people in. The second book would be another vampire book, Vampire Academy, this time written a lot better than Twilight but still with action and romance that will draw the reader in.


Review of Glass Houses / Review of Shade

To continue the theme of Vampire's (don't worry I have non vampire books ahead) we have Glass Houses, this is another kick ass vampire book. We then have Shade a ghost story with romance galore and a hot Scottish guy! *swoon*


Angel Review 

We have had vampires and ghosts so why not some Angels. Angel by L.A. Weatherly has a original, unique mythology and a hot romance to boot. Seriously I love this series.  We then have Beautiful Dead which is a fantastic story about a girl who she's ghosts who have unfinished business. One ghost being her recently read boyfriend. It is incredible it's a series I forgot I had read and loved.


Touch Of Death Review / Awakened Review

Touch of Death adds a little mythology to the mix and Awakened adds some more mythology and angels.


A discovery of witches review

The two books aren't YA but they have to get mentioned in a post of PNR reads. These are my two favourite series of all time. I always talk about them and they are the Sookie Stackhouse Series and the All Souls Trilogy. Guys you need to get on these books!!

 Tell us about yourself and your writing career?

Hello! I'm E. Chris Garrison, I'm an indie author from Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I write speculative fiction of many sorts. Blue Spirit is in good company with my other urban / paranormal fantasy books (The Road Ghosts Trilogy), as I enjoy bringing fantastic elements into our world. I also write science fiction (Reality Check) and steampunk (Trans-Continental: Girl in the Gears). My short stories range even further from weird tales to suspenseful horror. I've always been a writer, ever since my first story, “The Bionic Turkey”, got published in my elementary school newsletter in the '70s, but I strayed away from that love sometime in college; I became a problem-solving computer systems engineer, but it beat a lot of creativity out of me, and my creative writing expressed itself mostly in the form of creating tabletop roleplaying game adventures and characters I played online. I resumed writing in the early days of blogging, on LiveJournal, and with the far-too-early death of my writerly uncle, I picked up the metaphorical pen again and wrote my first novel in 2007 (Four 'til Late). Rather than just checking off a bucket list item, that book re-awoke my lifelong passion for fiction writing, and  now I've got the 6 books I mentioned out, with a work in progress and at least a couple more planned for the next year.

Tell us a little about the creation of Blue Spirit?

It was kind of an accident. I was writing book 2 of the Road Ghosts Trilogy, Sinking Down, in a brewpub, using my Alphasmart Neo word processor. Admittedly, it does look a bit like a toy, and people sometimes ask me about it as I'm trying to write. I'd taken the day off, and this tall girl, who introduced herself as Skye, sat down with me to ask questions and chit chat. She'd evidently had a beer or two before that (and so had I), and it was a fun conversation. Before I knew it though, I'd lost 2 hours of writing time while under a self-imposed deadline. So I made her a character, sort of comic relief, to help me get more words done in less time. A couple of years later, after I'd completed the first versions of the Road Ghosts Trilogy, I thought about what I wanted to do next. I wanted a new series, one that didn't focus on ghosts and demons and so on. I thought it might be nice to have the new series related in some way to the Trilogy, so I thought about secondary characters who might be fun to write about. Maybe something involving fairies instead. Skye came instantly to mind. I thought she would be fun to be for awhile, so I wrote the new book, from her first person point of view. And the world filtered through Skye's perceptions  turned out to be pretty funny, even when things got grim, so Blue Spirit was born. The second Tipsy Fairy Tale, Restless Spirit, has been written and will soon be in process toward publication by Seventh Star Press.

 Why should we pick up Blue Spirit?

If you'd enjoy funny, fast-paced adventure starring a flawed but well-meaning young woman, I'd highly recommend you pick up Blue Spirit. It's full of Skye's mishaps and victories, her friendships and rivalries, her lost love and exciting new romantic possibilities. Even as her world falls down around her, Skye holds together with her sense of humor and headlong bravery, all with a little help from her friends, mundane and magical. However, if you hate fun, then by all means, give Blue Spirit a pass, because this is a fun book.

Sunday Post #23 - Its good to be off!

It's good to be off...

I am off work now until 1st September and you don't know how good that is. I am not doing anything too exciting but to be able to relax and read and hopefully try and sleep in will be great. While am off am also going to get some things made for a new birthday board in work for the kids. I was going with an underwater theme. Do you have any good birthday board ideas? Have you seen some in your kids classes that look good? Let me know am open to ideas!

It's been a quiet week...

Nothing out of the ordinary has happened. It's been a quiet week in real life and book wise. I only received one book this week that I will put below and I like it that way. I have way to many books to currently read so to just get a book here and there is good.


Are quirky knick knacks. I discovered a shop in the city called Doris & Jeannie and it has the most amazing bits and pieces. The button heart I got below I love. I wanted to buy everything in the shop.


I am also addicted to Twitter, I always have been but it's getting out of hand now. I think it's my favourite social media platform. Shameless plug if you want to follow me you can @teamwolf1988

I love music and I am addicted to listening to a set Martin Garrix's had at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Like obsessed! I have listened to the whole set about 10 times in the last few weeks.

Get to know me!

I thought I would do a different post from my usual reviews, interviews and giveaways. I thought I would do a getting to know me post. You all know I love books but what else do you need to know about me. Well here's some things you should know about me.


The basics

I am 26 years old and hating getting older.
I live in Northern Ireland which is part of the UK. I am not Irish. Many people who live outside the UK get Ireland and Northern Ireland mixed up. Both places are on the same island but Ireland is its own country whereas Northern Ireland makes up the UK along with Scotland, Wales and England. 
I have a younger brother and sister. My brother is 3 years younger than me and my sister is 5 years younger than me.
In real life my job is working as a Child Development Assistant with kids aged 1-4 and its a job I love.

Things I love apart from books

Owls, I collection anything owl related however I only like to collect cartoon versions of owls.
I am addicted to Arrow and am in love with Stephan Amell.
I love peanut butter related chocolate and sweets.
I am addicted to YouTube and Twitter.

Top Ten Of Your Auto-buy Authors

Topic: Top Ten Of Your Auto-buy Authors 

Deborah Harkness wrote my favourite series of all time, the All Souls Trilogy, it took over the top spot which was for the sookie stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. I never thought I would find a series to top my Sookie Stackhouse love but Deborah Harkness did that when she wrote the All Souls Trilogy. I love her writing style and I really need her to write more books so I can buy them all.


I love the world Cassandra Clare has created in the mortal instruments series and I can't wait to read more books in this world. Even though I wasn't a fan of the Infernal devices, I still want more of this authors writing.

Stephanie Perkins is on my auto to buy list as she made me love contemporary romance books. I am not a contemporary girl, I prefer PNR read but I loved her Anna and the French Kiss trilogy. So if she continues to write contemporary I will buy her books as she is my contemporary go to girl.

I know guys, E.L James but I loved her books even though the writing is not amazing, I still am invested in her stories. I know I will pick up every book she releases.

Jennifer E Smith is an author who I really enjoy, even though I have only read two of her books (I am going to buy all the rest) I really enjoy her unique writing style and can't wait to buy all her books.

It's J.K Rowling why wouldn't you buy her books. However I will only buy her children's or YA books, please give us some more.

Anna Todd has become one of my favourites after reading the After Series TWICE this year she is now on my auto buy list.

Rick Yancey has recently became a favourite of mine. His writing  drew me in and I now want everything he writes


Michael W Buckley has become a master of writing to me this year he wrote my favourite book of the year Undertow. I now want everything this man writes.


Sylvia Day has become my go to author for streamy romance. I just love her books.
