The Good Girl Vs. The Player

Round one begins...

Trina Clemons needed the money. Why else would she - the most organized, prepared student in school - spend the summer as a nanny and partner with the biggest slacker ever? Now she's ready to tackle nannyhood with her big binder of research and schedules. Just don't ask her about the secret job of "fixing" the bad habits of a certain high school player...

Slade Edmunds prefers easy hook-ups, and Trina is definitely not his type. She's all structure and rules, while Slade wants to just have fun. Fortunately, Trina has no idea about the bet Slade made with his best friend that he can totally get her to unwind by the end of summer...

Then the weirdest thing happens. There's chemistry. A lot of it.

But nothing gets between a boy and a girl like a big, fat secret...

Tell us a little about yourself and your writing career so far.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but it took me awhile to get there. Joining a critique group made a big difference, helping me bring my writing to the next level. I contracted my debut novel, HOW (NOT) TO FALL IN LOVE, in 2013. The smartest thing I did was keep writing after I sold that first book. I’m very fortunate to have Entangled Teen publishing three of my YA romance novels.

Tell us a little about your book Playing the Player?

You know that guy everyone has a crush on in high school, the party boy who is irresistible, even though you know he’s trouble and will break your heart? That’s Slade, the player who happens to have a secret romantic streak. He really wants to fall in love but is afraid to.

Trina’s not his type at all. She’s serious and focused and thinks he’s a
pain in the butt…though she admits to checking out his butt when he’s not looking, especially when they’re working together as summer nannies for two crazy little kids.

This is an opposites attract, frenemies-to-lovers story, with a lot of laughs and little bit of angst to keep it interesting.

Can you describe your Protagonists Slade and Trina in less than 140 characters?

Slade: life-of-the-party, what you see is what you get, sexy without trying, big-hearted but hiding it.

Trina: Serious, driven, cautious, a little insecure, and immune to Slade’s charms (or so she thinks).

Why should we pick up Playing the Player?

It’s a fun summer romance with a few surprises, since both Trina and Slade are hiding secrets from each other. If you like humor, chemistry, and watching two stubborn people fall for each other against their “better judgment,” I think you’ll enjoy this story. Also, lots of kissing .

Lisa Brown Roberts still hasn't recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off her eyebrows and penciling them in for an entire school year. This and other painful memories inspire her to write books in which girls big on wit and heart earn happy endings with swoony guys...eventually.

Her almost forever home is Colorado, though she occasionally pines for the days when she lived within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. Her house is full of books, boys, four-legged prima donnas, and lots of laughter.

The giveaway is a Nanny Survival Kit (nail polish, lip balm, journal, summer scrapbook stickers, love scrapbook stickers, love quote bookmark) for US winner or a $20 Amazon Gift Card if international
