BLURB:

HGTV’s Property Brothers meets The Marriage Bargain in this second volume in the Billionaire Builders series, an all-new heart-wrenching and sexy contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

When she was a teen, Raven Bella Stratton’s father was killed in a horrible car crash. The bigger shock was the discovery of a woman with him—Diana Pierce—and their two fully packed suitcases with airline tickets to Paris. Devastated by her father’s betrayal, Raven went to live with her aunt, never truly overcoming the traumatic event. When she discovers that the mysterious woman had a family with a husband and three boys, Raven vows to leave the memory of her father behind.

Until Dalton Pierce visits one night and suddenly her past challenges her future...

Leaving his life in California behind to run Pierce Construction with his two older brothers, Dalton Pierce has enjoyed returning home and studying his passion of woodworking. But when he visits the local bar with his brothers one evening, he’s immediately drawn to the smart-mouthed, badass, sexy bartender who sets his body on fire. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem as intrigued by him, and his multiple advances are met with rejection. When he offers to restore the bar back to its original glory, he begins to work with her on a daily basis, and falls harder. His plan of seduction slowly weaves a web around them both, until they are caught up in the spell. But Dalton doesn’t know the secret that can either destroy them both...or finally mend two broken hearts.

Anytime, Anyplace is the second book in the billionaire builders series by Jennifer Probst it is a story of love, family, secrets and heartache and it is a story I enjoyed greatly.

Side note: Now this is the second book in the series and I haven't read the first book but this book can definitely be read as a standalone and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Each book is about a different Pierce brother, so if you want to know Cal's story you would have to go back to book one. However you kinda know part of Cal's story from reading Anytime, Anyplace so if you don't want to have any spoilers start with book one.

So our stars of Anytime, Anyplace is Cal and Raven. Cal is the youngest of the Pierce brothers and is mischievous, fun and a guy that loves life and woman. I picture him as Jason Momoa I don't know why. And then there's sassy Raven who runs her own bar and restaurant and is a fantastic mixologist though she wouldn't call herself that.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially the characters. I especially loved Cal he is just a fun guy who is so nice but in my opinion emotionally damaged by events in his life. Raven is such a strong woman. She doesn't need a prince charming on a steed, she need's someone to walk beside her which I loved.

Jennifer's writing was fantastic, the writing is told in duel point of views with more toward Raven and Jennifer did it seamlessly. I did enjoy the plot, we as reader know some of what is happening but some of the other character's don't.

However I did have a few issues with Anytime, Anyplace, it's not a perfect five star book so there has to be issues. I enjoyed 90% of the book and the last little bit just got a little all over the place for me. Some of the scenes and little plot things near the end didn't seem necessary just convenient. And one scene in particular just didn't feel right for a certain character to do, in some ways I get it but dam really, it was a good shock factor but I personally think it didn't have to be that way.

Overall I did enjoy Anytime, Anyplace after a few mishaps near the end it ended on a good high for me. And I will definitely be checking out more in this series.

New thoughts: What I have found re-watching Vampire Diaries!

Recently I have been re-watching Vampire Diaries on Netflix. I am currently a few episodes into season two and from re watching it I have some new thoughts. Now my journey with Vampire Diaries started back when the show first aired in 2009. I immediately loved it and watched every episode until half way though season six when I just started to lose interest. However as we are coming up to the series finishing forever I thought I would give the series a re watch and continue on with the seasons I have missed. Re watching it I fell in love with it all over again but this time there was a few things that caught my attention. Today I want to share my thoughts with you. There will be spoilers if you haven't watched the series.

*First up I was really sad when Caroline got turned. She really annoyed me as a vampire to start and then it just messed up the whole Caroline and Matt thing. I loved those guys together. Re watching it I am now quite annoyed it ruined that relationship.

*Two people I loved when I first watched the series was Bonnie and Jeremy but re watching it they are so annoying. More so Bonnie I just want to slap her most of the time now!

*Catherine is just my QUEEN! First time round, I didn't really like her I was all for she needs to leave my Elena and Stefan alone but now she is just such an awesome character!!!

*Talking of Elena and Stefan. I was all for them as a couple when I first watched it. Now not so much . I don't know if this is because I know what happens and I am influenced. There was some swoony moments which I loved and some lines that they say to each other when they decide to give it a try that I adore. And they are cute together and its all swoony but both characters really annoy me sometimes now especially Elena. Elena has these weird facial expressions and I am like what is wrong with her does she need the bathroom.

* My baby Damon!! I just love him even more!!

*I actually love Alaric and Damon's Bromance so much!! Bromance GOAL!

*Elena's uncle is a dosh he annoyed me even more and Elena's vampire mum I wanted to stake her myself!

*Finally it was so obvious the lockwoods where werewolves and even when Damon knew he just keep trying to prove it and I was like Damon seriously you know, stop!

Overall I am loving re watching it, it's just a fun guilty pleasure watch. Have you watched Vampire Diaries? Who is some of your fave characters?

Blog Tour: Under Pressure by Lori Foster - Review & Giveaway

Today I am taking part in the Under Pressure Blog Tour with a review.

Under Pressure by Lori Foster is the first book in Body Armour Series. Thank you to Ink Slinger PR and HQN books for the opportunity to review this book.

About UNDER PRESSURE:

He can protect anything except his heart

Leese Phelps's road hasn't been an easy one, but it's brought him to the perfect job—working for the elite Body Armor security agency. And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who's threatening her.

What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who'd believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese's ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honor. He's the last person she expects to trust—and the first who's ever made her feel safe. And he's the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough…

Grab your copy of UNDER PRESSURE here!

"Under Pressure was a good start to a new series by author Lori Foster. It is my first book by this author and it won't be the last."

Under Pressure is the first book in the Body Armor series by Lori Foster. This story is all about Cat who has a deadly secret that could get her killed, in walks Leese her assigned bodyguard who is sent to protect her. From there the story unravels.

The plot of Under Pressure was my favorite part of the book. On the first page the story kicks of and the suspense and intrigue continues thought out the book. You don't really know who is the bad guy is it this person or that person. The "topic" of the secret isn't something flimsy it's a real serious crime and I loved that it wasn't down played to just focus on the romance. There is of course a romance and one I did struggle with at first, I think this is due to my struggle with Cat. Me and Cat had a tug of war relationship. Straight of she wants Leese (and of course he's hot you can't not want him) but I thought it was a bit much and throughout the book she does do some things to annoy me. However she definitely redeems her self by the end of the book. And I have to say in retrospect I get her attraction and thoughts at the beginning now I have read the book.

Under Pressure also has some great side characters. Justice who I adore is another bodyguard and I can't wait to read his story in the next book. I also really liked Sahara the head of the Body Armor agency.

Under Pressure is 384 pages but it definitely didn't feel like that it was fast paced and played out like a movie in my head. I could definitely see this as a movie or TV show with it's mix of intrigue, suspense, romance, and action. Overall I enjoyed Under Pressure and I look forward to the next book, Hard Justice coming in April!

My Rating: ✪✪✪✪ .5

The Rule Maker is the second book in the Rule Breakers series by Jennifer Blackwood, and I absolutely loved it. Note; I haven't read the first book but really want too!! This book however can be read as a standalone!

I am a terrible at summing up books but here is a quick rundown.

* Zoey is a  fun, sassy, hilarious, hard working independent woman who is a interior designer and gets  a contract helping to 're develop a run down ski resort.

*Ryder is a professional snowboarder but is sadly currently of the circuit with an injury, who loves his life, has a one night rule with woman and is and all around hot guy!

*Put together Zoey and Ryder, a past and some flash underwear and the story kicks of.

I loved this book so much. It's the perfect Rom-com book, I had all the feels. Zoey is a protagonist I will remember for a while she made me laugh so many times. The situations she gets her self in are so hilarious I was laughing out loud. Guys I need to see this as a movie. Jennifer's story telling just had me visualizing this on the big screen up there with all the other great Rom coms.

I loved Ryder as well. He is just such a good guy with a few issues but not big dramatic issues like you get in most of the romance book's I read which I loved. I loved Ryder and Zoey together there dynamic was so good and there interactions made smile and laugh.

The story was fast paced and addictive and being in Zoey's mind was a joy. The book is told from both Zoey's and Ryder's POV and I loved this. The story came together fantastically beginning to end.

Overall this was a fantastic book. (can I say fantastic any more) It was a fun read that had great characters, a nice romance and is a perfect winters nights in read with a cup of tea and a cosy blanket.

Excerpt from Fading Into The Shadows by Kelly Hashway

Avery looked over his limbs, and his eyes widened at the sight of his left arm. He raised it, squeezed his fist, and tested it against his other hand, seeing just how much he could feel with his faded arm. After a few seconds, he lowered his arm again and met my eyes. I’d thought I’d lost Avery once, when he was kidnapped. It nearly tore me to pieces. I couldn’t possibly lose him for real this time. I had to get him out of this place. And fast.

“Come on.” I tugged on his good arm. “We’re getting Melanie to open the portal, and we’re sending you home. Bobson said people go back to normal in their own worlds. We just have to get you home. Then everything will be fine.” I dragged him to the doorway before he dug in his heels and stopped, jolting me back with him.

He grabbed me by the shoulders, which felt weird since one of his hands wasn’t fully there anymore. “Ella, slow down. You’re talking so fast I can barely keep up.”

“We don’t have time to slow down.” Why wasn’t he more freaked out? This wasn’t difficult to understand. You fade away to nothing, and that’s it. You’re nothing! “Do you really want to risk fading away completely? ’Cause I’m not about to watch you die.”

He wrapped me in a hug. “I’m not going to die. We’ll figure it out. I promise. But please calm down. You’re going to send everyone into a panic.” He nodded slightly toward the boys who were starting to stare at us.

I pulled away and stepped right outside the doorway so they couldn’t see us. “We should be panicking. This is serious.” I tried to lower my voice as best as I could, but it wasn’t easy to freak out in whispers.

“I know.”

“You’re not acting like it.”

“We have a job to do, Ell. I can’t think about this right now.” He raised his hand, squeezing his fist again. “I have to come up with a plan to fix things here so we can get back home before it’s too late.”
I couldn’t believe he still wanted to stay and help Melanie. It was absurd. Why would he risk his life like this for her? I was about to let him have it when I saw Melanie walk by. No doubt she was heading to her room, away from the unsightly injured and fading boys. I let go of Avery’s arm and ran after her.

“Ella,” Avery called after me, but I ignored him. If he wouldn’t listen to me, I’d make Melanie listen to me.

“Melanie!” I yelled. “We need to talk. Now!”
Melanie turned, looking annoyed. “What is it, Ella? I’m very busy. And there’s no need to yell.”

“I don’t care how busy you are. These kids are fading. Avery is fading. You need to open the portal and send them home. Now!”
