Mackenzie and Landon were the perfect couple . . . until he dumped her and broke her heart. Fast-forward a year and they're back where they first met—Serenity Ranch and Spa, where they are once again working together for the summer. Talk about awkward.

Then, Landon takes a nasty fall and gets amnesia. Suddenly, he’s stuck in the past—literally. His most recent memory is of last summer, when he and Mack were still together, so now he’s calling her pet names and hanging all over her. It's the perfect chance for revenge. The plan is simple: keep Landon at arm’s length, manipulate him so he’s the one falling love, and then BAM, dump him. There’s just one problem: Mack can’t fall for Landon all over again.

The If Only romance line is all about wanting what you can't have, and Mandy Hubbard's hilarious break-up/love story is sure to captivate anyone who has ever wished for a second shot at love.

Review:

"Fool Me Twice is a lighthearted, cute summer read!"

Mackenzie our leading lady fell in love with Landon, a cute cowboy at Serenity Ranch & Spa. Landon broke Mackenzie's heart after a whirlwind summer romance and Mackenzie spent a year in his present at school heartbroken and confused. Flash forward to the present day and Landon and Mackenzie are back at Serenity Ranch & Spa and Mackenzie can know longer ignore Landon. After a nasty fall on the ranch Landon doesn't remember breaking up with Mackenzie, que hilarious "revenge" on Landon!

Mackenzie is a great female protagonist, she's quirky, fun and caring. Landon is a cute cowboy who is full of himself however throughout Fool Me Twice you get to see a different side of him.

The pranks played on Landon by Mackenzie and her friend Bailey were funny and reminded me of the pranks in The Parent Trap (1998).

Bailey is an awesome best friend! Even though she is egging Mackenzie on with the pranks and fooling Landon, even when Mackenzie is having doubts, Bailey is doing it for the right reasons as Landon hurt her best friend. Bailey cares so much for her friend and I think that's awesome. Everyone could use a friend like Bailey.

One thing I had a little issue with in Fool Me Twice is that when Landon had his head injury and after a few days still couldn't remember A YEAR of this life, I was thinking someone needs to take him to hospital! Even though the story was a little far fetched I still really enjoyed it. It is not only a cute summer read but has a message. The message is to look past the surface of a person and to wonder if there's a reason behind the way a person acts and does the things they do, even if your feelings may get hurt in the process!

  1. I love contemporaries! Especially ones that have depth to them. This sounds like the perfect summer read. Great review!
