In My Mailbox (#9)

In my mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren were everyone puts up the books they have bought, received or got from the library!

This week I received some fantastic books IMM for review and a few that I won during the Midsummer Eve Blog hop. So here they are:

*Alison Wonderland by Helen Smith (Released on 16th August)

"After her husband leaves her for another woman, twentysomething Londoner Alison Temple impulsively applies for a job at the very P.I. firm she hired to trap her philandering ex. She hopes it will be the change of scene she so desperately needs to move on with her shattered life. At the all-female Fitzgerald’s Bureau of Investigation, she spends her days tracking lost objects and her nights shadowing unfaithful husbands. But no matter what the case, none of her clients can compare to the fascinating characters in her personal life. There’s her boss, the estimable and tidy Mrs. Fitzgerald; Taron, Alison’s eccentric best friend, who claims her mother is a witch; Jeff, her love-struck, poetry-writing neighbor; and—last but not least—her psychic postman. Her relationships with them all become entangled when she joins Taron for a road trip to the seaside and stumbles into a misadventure of epic proportions! Clever, quirky, and infused with just a hint of magic, this humorous literary novel introduces a memorable heroine struggling with the everyday complexities of modern life."

I won Alison Wonderland during the Midsummer Eve hop via author Helen Smith ! Its a signed ARC and  am really excited to read this book. It sounds awesome, a quirky chick-lit read. I am hoping to read this before the release date of Alison Wonderland on August 16th.

*Never Bite A Boy On The First Date by Tamara Summers (2009)

Never Bite a Boy on the First Date

"I've got a few issues. I'm a vampire now. One of my classmates was found dead, with telltale fang marks. I didn't do it! (really!) Nobody believes me, so ... I'm going to have to find the real killer. I've already got three suspects. (three very cute suspects.) One more problem: I am seriously falling for one of them ... but what if he's the killer?"

I won Never Bite A Boy On The First Date via Emma @Bellebooks ! TY. I have never heard of this book before but it sounds like a good book, totally a book I am looking forward to reading.

*Divergent by Veronica Roth

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

I gave in and finally bought Divergent. I have been wanted this book for a while and have heard great things about it. I managed to get it for £3.97, which I was really happy with. Can't wait to start this when I have time.
